Thread: Is it just me or does poison do TOO much damage?
I don't think I am alone in saying this: Combat Medic's poisons do TOO much damage.
I'm pretty active in PvP and I'm an Expert Bounty Hunter working on Master, I am getting very tired of being taken down by a SUPPORT class in less than 5 seconds because theyre using some psycho mind poison that does 400+ damage per tick. Some might say that I have no room to talk because Eye Shot is in my list of frequently used moves but consider this: Eye Shot, like all other abilities does 25% normal damage (you know the 75% pvp damage redux) However, the Combat Medic's poison still does FULL damage. As a result, Combat medics that successfully apply poison already win. In lieu of the +1 HAM nerf that has been proposed I would suggest that the pvp redux gets applied to Poisons. ((Even our DoT is covered by it.))

I do about 150-200 damage per shot.
I am also not against the Eye Shot nerf.
we have to find the resources and make them it's definetly you
Well 150-200 every second from the very first second of combat. COmpare that to a top-level singular poison that does not even tick off that first bit of damage until 8 seconds into the fight (assuming the poison is not resisted, of course.) You'r potintial damage in that first 8 seconds is 1200-1600 compared to the MAYBE 500 damage (more likely 400) and that's GOOD poisons that take a LOT of time and expense to get all fo the advanced and top-level resources needed to make a wepon that is gone after 20-30 uses and can be cured before it even takes that first tick (therefore doing no damage at all to you). Does your pistol degrade that fast?So in effect you are likely, as a BH, to do 3-4 times as much damage as a CM does with apoison.
Doesn't sound overpowered to me. Sorry.
I think just the idea of poisons scare folks enough that they aren't taking a close look at what is happening, how it is happening, nor how often it is happening and comparing that to the damage that they themselves are capable of and often do.
/agreed
although its longer than 5 seconds, i think everybody gets the point hes trying to make.
and eyeshot is something you actually have to be IN RANGE for, unlike poison which gets chucked confortably 20m out of danger.
and dont forget that eyeshot is prone to armor, which poison isnt.
