I apologize in advance, this is a string that has probably come up a lot, but as more & more players master I'm curious. Do you like poison for its quick damage in pvc and disease for its slow wounds in pvp? Are c's as effective as d's sometimes? Do you primarily use mind disease/poison or do you see benefits in action & health poison/diseases as well? Which do you keep as hot buttons? Finally, when making them which advaced components do you end up sacrificing for regular b/c the resources are to difficult to find and do you still get pretty decent results?

Thanks tons for any input!

Poisons. The only thing I've ever used disease for is PL'ing lowbie medics.

As for my "Poison setup". I use direct target Health poison C's for PvE and Area Mind Poison C's for PvP.

(There are no poisons or diseases above C)

If the new poison rules make it live, I suspect that my strategy will be to throw an area poison (generally mind, though action is great against bounty hunters and health is nice when they don't have good healing support) followed by an area diseases to secondary stats.

I like the secondary wounds better since -

1) Sometimes you don't notice them

2) Many medics and doctors don't carry around great wound packs for secondaries

3) Even if you do get healed quickly, you are still out of action longer after a clone than if you just took damage

4) Until you get them cleared up, your ability to wear armor is reduced

Hmmm... maybe I will start with diseases...

How long do you PvP battles last?

If I threw out Area Disease, I'd be lucky to get 2 tics before that person was incap'd. They would take very little in the way of wounds if any.

Remember it takes tome for those diseases to kick in, if your target is incap'd they aren't going to be ticking with the disease anymore.

Poisons all the way. I am a mind area junky, but I do use mind singles in one on one situations. In Pve I use health areas almost all the time but I also carry health singles with me as well. I never use diseases in PVP except on peoples pet's that take awhile to take down (Then they actually have time to work).

TIOGUFF, You do realize that using disease on a pet is like hitting it in the mind. All the owner has to do to clear up ALL wounds on a pet is feed it. Same thing with mind damamge. All the owner has to do to a pet to heal it's mind is have it do a trick.

Diseasing pets does nothing. You are just wasting resources. =)

Actually I didnt know about the wound heals via feed pet but I did know about the heal mind trick. However, when i see three rancors taking out my teammates I dont worry about wasting resources. Still this is degrading how long he will be using this particular pet even if it is not the most effective method.

I mix and match: Mind area C for initial combat, then targeted sub stat diseases on stamina and strength (seem to be the two most ignored sub attributes). Combined with knockdown or bleed to buy time/ enhance effect it becomes tons of fun.

for pvp i will use mainly disease probably because a lot of time an effective mind disease to a medic will put them outta the way for a while expcially if you hit focus/willpower cause if you kill their focus then when they have around 300 mind left and it says not enough mind then they will spend a lot of time going what the hell is going on here. so i use mind posien and focus disease.

Poison. Diseases are practically worthless due to the brief length of pvp and the long time between ticks.

For PVE I use Single target Health and if situation is adequate I stack in an AE Health poison as well.

For PVP I use AE mind if unsure of situation. If I'm sure I'm combatting a single target then just a single mind will do. If I have time I will stack a single and an AE. For "Specials Spammers" I use action poison and let them incap themselves.
