The 4000 line is arguably the best because it allows you to heal yourself well. For offense, the 0004 line has the most useful debuffs.

Combat medic has no area attacks.

What happend with 0400 and 0040, are they not good for offense?

ok in for a penny in for a pound as they say.

As to your question "What are the best lines in CM"

The biggest thing to answer for yourself is what you value most & what you plan on getting out of CM.

If the answer is... "Oh all I need are heals" Then it's clear you'd want to go 4xxx.

If the answer is. I just need something to augment my already great damage output of master rifles. well you might consider the xxx4 line as it'll slow down opponents.

But a lot of it goes into your line of thinking in what exactly you value & your overall style of game play is in addition to your current abilities.

The DOT's aren't great. Especially when compared to how they worked preCU. They do make a difference though by ensuring your opponent gets damage even if your healing or trying to regen.

See it's my personal opinion that MCM is one of the best professions as it allows a lot of flexibility.
For instance after shooting 30 specials your action may start to go down.
Depending on the lines you go with you can recharge your action and use your CM debuffs and DOTs as you start tearing at your mind pool. (generally you do the states first) but this is just an example & my overall way of working with CM & why I like it so much. I can attack using more than 1 pool & leverage the 2 off each other.

I agree with eapers but wanted to shed some different light on the situation. A lot of variables come into play that you should consider. I value 4xx4 most but always use my DOTs. I'd say I use the xx4x line the least & I only use infect for fun (the ol let's see how much stuff we can apply). & I admit it is fun even if it is pointless.

Eapers. My DOTs stick most of the time (Id say 90%).THERE ARE SOME EXCEPTIONS which I discovered when trying different combos last night.

was helping a guildie grind & was being the tank/damage dealer so he could heal & would do the following
/deut/thyroid/kd/crit/headshot/neuro/bleed
Worked with different combos but found when I did this neuro would rarely stick.

when I would do /deut/neuro/kdcrit/thyroid the deut and neuro stuck most of the time. I think this is because at some point (think it's 2 DOTs or states) and they get the rage icon. then your chances are significantly less on a DOT sticking debuffs don't seem to be affected by this. With shock your chances do seem to increase but not sure by how much.
The states apply 99% of the time on most creatures regardless so of wether raged or not. It is this reason I tend to do the DOTs first. Could be wrong but last night it seemed to be pretty consistant once I worked that out.

make infect do all that stuff you proposed but make it last like 2 minutes without going away, then start to go away

Oh they are, the 0004 line is just the best in my opinion. The regain debuffs (0040) are good when fighting drawnout fights with one person. But when I think PvP, I assume that its going to be group vs group, and in those situations someone attacking and running slow (0004) is overall better than making someone worry about their action management, because that person is likely to die very soon at any time.

As for the DoTs in 0400, they just arent that great. A single target fire that doesn't reliably stick even at master, and a poison to boot. Useful in 1v1 again, but not too reliable and not a great line to dabble in. Your popular CM dabbles are gonna be 4000, 0004, and 4004. Or just master CM, its pretty cool.
