I'm trying it now... working my way up to MD/MCM from MD/M Pike.

I'm curious as to whether the increased healing efficiency is beneficial to both MD and MCM or whether it is heavily hit by their diminishing returns penalties.

Just one bit of caution with MD/MCM... all of your specials count against the mind pool and you probably can't play both offense and defense full bore because of that. If you had a melee or ranged second profession you'd be using both action and mind and could do more offensively without taxing yourpools.

Because of this, I think this template is an awesome support template, but perhaps not as versatile as some of the other CM or doctor templates.

You'll be hit by diminishing returns before you reach, I assure you.

I have MD and a portion of the Distance Healing Tree of CM. My numbers are only slightly off the numbers for MD/MCM.

I decided to make a healer to help my guild with, and MCM/MDoc seemed like a no-brainer... (With two branches in the carbine tree so I might actually be able to kill a womp rat now and then.) Then I came to the forums, and noticed that no one EVER suggested MCM/MDoc as a template...

Is there something I'm missing? Is there something really awful about it, apart from having to wait a bit longer to earn all that med xp? (And even that isn't that much of a hassle - I intend to train carbine boxes as I get them, and erase them as needed when the med boxes fill up.)

I have been an mdoc/mcm twice now (in the past month) and I can assure you that if you are wanting big heals, dont bother with it.

You are better off with (in my opinion, after much testing) Doc 4404, MCM, (insert ranged prof here) with 2 branches at lvl 4. This will put you at level 80 (my current template is Doc4404/MCM/Rifleman4014). If you are looking for offensive power outside of CM you probably want to go with rifles to be honest. They have a high damage, and with the Adrenal Boost (though not as much anymore..) you can still pack a punch. You will most likely need to compensate with quite a bit of SEA's and a good set of battle armor (primus layered is so nice.)

I have been doing heavy testing on Adrenal Boost with my toon and I havn't found it to be that useful anymore. I have 106 speed (after all is said and done) and I still attack every 2 seconds, with a 3 second delay thrown in roughly every 5 shots (2/2/2/2/3/2/2/2/2/3) but with adrenal boost it gives me a flat rate of 2 seconds.... not really worth the 18 SP in my opinion, because the rest of the buffs arn't worth it either. You're better off with buying some food/drink/spice and having a ball.

Hope that helps, but I've found over the course of time that CM is a much more useful profession than Doc now, due to the fact that CM's always have SOMETHING they can do.
