Hello all, I rarely come to the profession forums but have been trolling around a bit. I amaguild leader of the most active rebel pvp guild on Wanderhome. We daily go pvp'n against mutliple guilds, have entered wars and many large scale battles....

Now my first impression in here on these forums is of course everyone screaming nerf.We have one of the most powerful if not the most powerful CM on our server come fight with us daily. She has around 750 single dot poisons now, and her areas can sting for up to 500 a tick. She has turned the tides of fights solely and is one of our most valuable members. What i see in the CM profession is an awsome force, that causes the enemy to not only respond with strategy but with distinct professions. There is many fights that we will lose against very skilled players that realize the power of CM's and effectively deal with it.

Several keys:

1) CM's are targeted first, and need to be quickly killed

2) CM's force the enemy to not only fight as a group, but have doctors on hand in the field to deal with the threat.

3) CM's cause the need for enormous effort and strategy on things like base raids.

I understand that people get defeated by a CM, or have their entire group whiped out by a powerful CM and come here to complain about it. But what i want to say is that when you move from the realm of petty griefing pvp to group pvp/waryou end up with some excellent battles. Start using strategy to combat methods such as this. Have your defense stacked riflemen and other professions take a step back, realize they are not benefiting a large group, pick up things like medic/doctor to actually help win battles.

Seriously, I think CM's give an enormous amount to this game as it currently sits. It gives rise to the need for doctors in pvp, gives rise to the need for profession spreading, and overall forces the use of strategy more then any other profession.

All this said (my ranting), is there any actual word that the power of CM's is to be actually nerfed? (cringe) I think nerfing CM's will take alot out ofthe game/pvp andeven hurt many other professions....

Besides fixing range, LoSand Z-axis bugs (which aren't nerfs), no, I have not heard of any nerfs in the works.

Please post this on the GCW boards. My party line is, if you don't like poison and disease, stop wasting skill points for defense stacking and pick up 4000 doctor.

You're absolutely correct -- the CM is really the only class in the game that forces groups of PVPers to actually use strategy and work together. My guild is very successful on raids and in defense of our own bases. We get hit by CMs constantly, but they are rarely little more than an inconvenience, because we work together and have doctors dedicated to doing their job.

Without the threat posed by CMs, group PVP would be little more than a whole bunch of pointless one on one battles. It's the groups that can't think beyond the one on one that are getting crushed by CMs.

For a CM, you don't know much about medical crap. Poisons and disease cures have a REQUIRED med use of 70ish (at least the good onces). Your plan would only give 55 med use, you'd need approx. 2 boxes on med knowledge too.

Your "party line" should say, if you don't like CMs, pick up meditate. Oh wait, most defence stackers have meditate.....

This is the fact that i have the most trouble with. 1 person should not be able to turn the tide of a large PvP battle.

WOW

Some one not crying nerf and makes a mention of tactics.

As a CM I agree I can turn a battle as a single player, but only if I am against poor tacticians.

Went on a raid the other day against a force with 3 CM's one with a nice +64 poison (Grr It's a bug I dont gripe about it it will be fixed. I'm more mad at sony for it still being in game). I am also a master doc, and we had another master doc. I'm unpoisoned first then anyone who happend to be around me. This was my bad geting poisoned. I was too close to the group and got poisoned.

They had 1 doc. They lost. We lost 1/4 of our team trying to get to all 3 CM's but they drop like dominoes, if you know what your doing. 1) Cm's have to stop and throw ..4 second delay avg = sitting duck to riflemen. 2) They all stood togther lobing poisons I targeted the doc so did my bodygaurd (Rifleman) But them being so close made it easy with one area poison. We lost the another 1/4 of the team in mop up. We took a beating getting to the CM's with Meele forces. Bad tactics on our part. Leason Learned.

My point is even a force of 3 Cm's is beatable. Granted they made critical mistakes. We had some luck.

I agree the CM role makes you THINK in PvP. You cannot just go tank and beserk on your enemy. Every fight should not be a balanced **edit** for tat. I'm not going to take an expeditionary force into territory against a reinforced battalion of enemy CM or not. I strongly hope tha whatever happens to CM's that we are acknowldged as a combat elite hybrid profession and no mater what happens we remain a strong factor of consideriation of any opposing/defending force in a battle.

Nice Post thanks for acknowledging that tactics are important. Also I am not part of keep the CM the same at all cost club. I strongly want all the bugs fixed as too many people think thattheey are our actual skills, and I want to wait and see on Pvp Damage until after the chef food update adds resists agains poison and diseease.

Like any medical item... there are varying degrees of packs can be used, and all of them the med use can be experimented down to whatever level is required by the users. Its very doable.

CM's are cheap period. You throw farther than I shoot. How in the world can that not be cheap? Secondly you can throw through walls.W T FWhat is the first thing that happens 10 seconds into a raid ... poisons of course, they need a nerf plain and simple ... stop lying to yourself.

The cry of the zergfest player; one who is easily pwned by those who think before they attack.

The opening post says it all....CMs bring the potential of the SWG combat system alive, and reward those who plan battles.

The problem is, the Quake PvP crowd makes for lousy soldiers. If you have real battles, you need soldiers, and soldiers work together, under central direction. This is anathema to the Quake PvP crowd.

Wow first time 've seen Xira post anywhere outside the WH forums.

Xira, go give novik a big kiss for me. Ya were on oppsite sides at all but I have to give novik alot of credit. Few people realize (at least on WH) how hard it can be to gather the resrouces novik uses to get the power she does in her poisons, just getting them gives me much reason to respect her but on top of that she plays smart (isn't novik you half the time? =P). Besides one CM/rifleman in TDP (can't think of his name) your one of the only other CM's I fear when im on my alt account.

As far as nerfs, no the devs have been some what quiet on the whole issue but they have said the power of our poisons isnt out of line for what they believe it should be. The only thing I can possibly see coming (besides the new chef food that will help with poison resist) is the fix to the poison through walls bug (I think we all agree that needs to be fixed) and maybe a AoE cure which won't be to bad as long as its done right.

BTW Xira, wanna spare some of the resources Novik is using and send some my way? I SWEAR I won't use them on DoA =P
