Thread: My initial thoughts on Ranged-A
So I made a couple of these before heading off to fight tuskens. It uses the same components as Stim-B and C but has more resources on the final combine. With good resources and experimentation I was able to get 14 charges and over 100 base heal value. This is about 33% better than a basic Stim-A.
I put the ranged stims into a cargo pocket so I would never accidentally use them, dragged them to the hotbar. In my main inventory I had a bunch of Stim-C's I made. Ionly used the ranged for getting those pesky incapped people who never are where they look like they are and for healing this TKA in my group who was about to get incapped by the tusken king (who likes to deathblow) from a ways away. It worked well, I was able to delay his incap long enough to get there and hit the Stim-C.
Overall I think they are nice in some situations, but I don't think they will really shine untilI engage in PVP with them.
Ranged Bs are a lot better. But I think you just hit on the main advantage - healing people who you couldn't possibly run to within 6m of before they died (a big deal with mid-fight DB now). I think of it as a patch heal until I can Stim them. Especially good on TKAs as you saw. It's nice to be able to stand out of aggro range since aggro is apparently all distance now (yawn) and heal/shoot freely.
You're gonna love PvP =)
Ranged Stim Cs heal about as much as Small Stimpack Ds, and Area Stimpack As heal around as much as Regular Cs/Bs
That is VERY good to hear. I hope they fix the area effect soon.

Honestly, I prefer my Ranged stimpacks to my regular Ds now. They heal the same amount.
Yep, in totally agreement with you. I've been finding myself using my ranged c's far more than other stims. I use regular c's and d's when someone is right next to me. But most of the time I'm using the ranged. It helps that I'm tickled to pieces about throwing a blue disco ball o' healing at someone. Shazaaam. You healed!
