Thread: PvE and poisons...
First, how well can a combat medic solo?
I have heard that if you poisons something and the poison does most of the damage you cannot loot. Does this make Poisons in PvE useless?
Or if your a rifleman: apply mind posion, stack mindshot 1 and mindshot 2, then run like hell.
If you somehow get lucky and it stops agroing, come back and use conceal shot untill its dead. (Remember conceal shot dosent agro)
From some of the testing I've done, if the Poison doe sthe majority of damage in large enough groups (so that they are doing realtively very small amounts of damage compared to what the poison does) the group may get very small or even no XP on the kill.
If the Poison delivers the final killing blow to the MOB that would appear to be when you are not allowed access to the corpse to loot or harvest. It should be noted that to the best of my knowledge all DoTs have this proble, including bleeds, but usually the kill seems to come less often from bleeds so it isn't noticed as much.
With this method you should be able to get a 600 bleed (minimum baring you have a decent rifle.), then a 900 bleed (minimum baring you have a decent rifle.), and a 500 posion.
Leaving you with 500 damage every 8 seconds, then 1,500 mind damage every 12 seconds.
I always use my pistol to apply both health DOT's (hopefully for around 1000 damage per DOT tick) and then a health poison. I figure, why not throw the poison?
I send in my Cowardly Gurreck/Rock Beetle to take and make sure it's healed.
I also spam BodyShot2 to take down the mobs health pool.
I do this on a regular basis and only solo on Lok (mercenary camp missions). Die once in a while, so does my pet. 10k mobs are not that tough (as long as you choose them wisely and you know how to break the group up).
I did great against Baz Nitches on Dathomir w/o my gurreck. Just lead one away with both DOT's, apply poison, and use suppression fire and/or warning shot to keep it away from me. Hell, I wasn't even wearing armour.
Also, yes, if only the poison does damage then you don't get any weapon/combat XP and you can't loot the corpse. On the other hand, if you do any damage with a weapon you'll get full weapon XP.
So to answer your question, yes. I can solo very well using the above tactics.
