Combat
Combat XP grants were removed from combat healing, poisons and diseases. Those actions will still count towards looting permissions.
DoT damage is now tracked for loot permissions.
XP rewards in combat now correctly reflect amount of damage that was done by dots.
DoT stacking has been changed so that each player attacking a target can only have one fire dot, one health bleed, one action bleed and one mind bleed.
Weapon DoT effects now only work if you are certified to use the weapon

So... no more combat XP for CM's... and no more Poison Stacking?

Anyone has more info on this?

Well, it didn't specifically state no poison stacking, it mentioned bleed and fire, though. But we can guess it will affect poison, too. The no Combat XP thing... well we would geta LOT of it, generally, when using DoTs, but I don't think it was a ton for healing. I realize it wasn't all that useful for CMs (at least not directly, although it could be useful for a CM's secondary profession) I think it was useful in getting up into CM from Medic, so I'm not too sure why they would yank that. We didn't get any kind of heads-up on any of that stuff on the Correspondent side, though, I know that much.

I hadn't heard of them taking away the Combat XP away from poisons/dieases. I posted a revamp of the CM tree that used alot of Combat XP to level. If poisons and diseases no longer give XP then it makes that post invalid along my lines of thinking, arg. I had counted on us recieving combat xp from our weapons. We DO get lots of combat exp and I wanted a way to ulitilze some of it. However if that is going to be changed then my thinking will have to change as well.


Any chance that CMs can actually use some of the combat xp that we recieve rather then just having it killed off?

This is as it should be in my opinion. It also paves the way for them to maybe put poison incap back in, though I would doubt that highly considering the current climate.

See Above, essentially I see this as a way to try and fix the problems that they could not fix in the beginning when DOTs were reported to not allow looting.

There is no way to know this for sure, sometimes poisons are considered DOTs, sometimes they are not. My initial thought would be that this would now be ther area where you would get your combat EXP. If this is the case I am alright with the change.

Actually I always thought this was a little extreme. Allowing me to hit a target with an A, B, C direct and an A, B, C AoE poison on a target is a bit overpowering. This might go a little ways towards keeping another nerf bat from smacking us.


Weapon DoT effects now only work if you are certified to use the weapon

Apparently this means nothing to us, since we cannot use a poison we do not have skill in.



This does not do much to me anyway, except Dots not stacking. For the most part I am capped on EXP anyway.

I will try to test out some of the DoT stuff when I can log in to test center. My TC resources are somewhat underpowered, though, to say the least.

Single poisons of different levels still stack (i.e. Single Cs stack with single Bs)


Area poisons still stack with single poisons.


Poison range can still go beyond 64m.

Hmm, this affects PvE only, i dont see changes to PvP. Since range was not nerfed and stacking still there, solo PvE for pure CM is unaffected. Group PvE however is altered,every DoT counting against loot share is reducing chance to win against stealers, but major DoTis flamer one, and it got major hit with nerfbat. For CM/Rifleman like me it is unclear, is it better for situation "youVS several krayt stealers" or nope, need testing.


However, if i understand patchnotes right, its getting much worse in "you VS many krayt stealers" situation - now EVERYONE of them can stick /mindshot2 or any other extremly powerful DoT and all they stack, and all they count towards loot permission.


From the other side, if it should sound like in addition to only one player bleed of one type, mob still can have itself only one bleed on particular pool, then you can shot strong /mindshot2 and any other weakest bleeds on health/pool and dont worry about loot stealing.

Thanks for the test, PahdBacca - can I pop a few more questions?


1) Did you try stacking different bleeds and did that stop working? Just checking to see if those patchnotes reflect Test-server reality at all


2) Did you check if different DOTs on the same pool still stack. eg. Mind Poison and Mind Bleeds?

TC is still a pain for me. No swoop bike, and I still crash to desktop whenever I try to open my mail. I was going to log on today to help test crafting crit fails but none of the red names were on at the time they said they were goining to. LOL, 700 credits to my name, I am in theed, and I needed to hop 2 planets to get to dantoine.


What is that command to dump mail?

No, did not try that.

Yes, bleeds and poisons stack.
