Damage over time. Basically its any attack that ticks damage by over time. Example would be 100 damage every 10 seconds.

damage over time.
it will doX damage, every Y seconds/ticks, for Z amount of time. you dont get the huge numbers for DOT's that lets say ariflemen,BH,comanndo, etc. would at once. butthere nice to DOT a mob at the begining of the fight and move on to healing, so your doigndamgare and healign at the same time.

One DoT thats in the game is a special that causes Bleeding. The target continues to take damage until the bleeding goes away.

Probably the single most unbalancing thing in this game system considering DOTs go straight through any kind of armor and resist

Which is a means of preventing armor from being too powerful, by rendering people nearly invulnerable.

DoTs go straight through armor and resist? Ahhhh. That's how my friends with flamethrowers can deal great damage to any variety of Rancor, even though they have 60-100% heat resist. I was wondering about that.
