On my server people dont get disease and poison buffs most of the time and doctors rarely offer them. As i see it being a cm is still great.

you are on ahazi? i have seen them offered when i was buffing in theed and in coronet each time. i have one crate each of enhance poison resist and enhance disease resist that i carry with me for pvp: if the doc does not have them, i provide them to him to buff my group before pvp. that has come in handy a couple of times. also, you might have to ask for them.

the area cures are the real bear though. most of the opponents i have encountered have been resistant to poison. those who were not, or on whom i got a poison to stick, had a doc in-tow, who cured them before the first tick, in almost every case. and as soon is a started lobbing bombs, i was the prime target. i found that my cm skills were not contributing effectively on the battlefield at all, primarily due to the area cures.

since that time, i have simply done other things. i plan to give the gcw and pvp another try after nerf 10. but if the area cures remain as effective as they have been, i do not forsee cm being much of an influence in pvp for the near future.

so, it is cool if you have found this. but the situations i have encountered on ahazi have been different than what you report. it is likely to be somewhat variable, so if you get the right circumstances, you may be able to be effective. i just doubt i will be able to contribute much in the vast majority of situations i have encountered.

no, wait, i saw this game... "pong" i think it was called. it was really easy to understand! maybe you could make swg more like pong! think of it! fast paced action! iconic characters! MORE FUN!

I think the old thinking basically hasn't changed much really. If the person(s) your fighting are not a doc, and don't have one with them they are screwed. I think everyone thought they'd suddenly not need to carry they're docs with them anymore and that just isn't true. Its just now when the docs are with ya, they really really help and can probably totally counter the CM threat if they are with you.

The simple fact is, resist buffs do not prevent you from getting poisond or even make that much of a difference to the effect of it if it lands. It's a chance percentage at resistance. The simple fact remains if I throw 10 poisons at someone they are probably going to get poisoned regardless of buffs, and if I'm lucky I'll land it the first shot. The truth is resist buffs don't help individuals really. They make the doctors job easier by slowing down the amount of people that would nead healing under a CM sustained attack.

Furthermore the duration on these buffs is rather low that it almost seems to truly put it to use your going to need a doctor running around with you to keep applying them as they run out.

The resists aren't the problem. It's the area cures. With the last nerf, we remain overpowered against groups without a doctor (a rare occurence) and are wildly underpowered against a group with a dabbler doctor. I still enjoy PvP as a CM/doc, but I sure don't feel "great".

By "cm skills" do you mean repeatedly pressing a button?
