I've heard almost nothing about the new CU, about how its really supposed to be. i've heard a ton of "i think's" and the like.
my question how will cu effect combat medic?

The only folks who have a clue are bound by NDA and can't say. And even they don't know the full scoop yet...only the devs know, and they ain't spilling.

I totally agree with Vortexala. No one knows in live and the people who do know are bound by the NDA. So, anyone who posts information is just there opinion and/or rumor. All I can tell you that ALL combat classes will be changed. That's all anyone knows.

The truth is you don't KNOW what will happen with poison/disease either. That they will be "nerfed to hell and back" is only your own speculation. I know everyone is anxious to get more information about the CU, but posting your own personal speculation just adds to all the rumors.
The truth is exactly as Texxie stated it. Those who know can't say.

This begs the question: Are we considered a combat class by the devs?

i feel safe knowing some of the testers becasue i have been hit with thier stuff and seen them in battle or battled along side of them -- either way i know htey are smart people and will represent the community so that cm is still a great class
remember after resist buffs came out? people thought that cm was nerfed lmao -- my stuff has np sticking even with resist buffs--- if i notice htey have buffs i can throw my high pot stuff --- cm has and will be a great class as many others --
yes this is speculation --- there are alot of classes not worth very much now they are going to be balancing these profs out so that any prof can be used in pvp pve as intended ---
and i hope they nerf the armor ---- not buffs--- not weapons just armor -- but no matter what i and many others will learn to adapt to the newest way of fighting that is ingame

I have seen some resemblance of this profession to the "Wizard" class in other games. Just an observance.

There is a ton of speculation as to what will happen to CM, what I think is likely will be that someting aki to the 75% reduction in PvP may take place or they will either change resist buffs or change they way that poisons and diseases affect one another. I have heard people talking about making diseases tick more often for less effectiveness and I think that would be kinda cool, but I also like the idea of not knowing what to expect. My only hope is that they dont do to CM what they did to Creature handler and try to "balance" it and effectivly remove it from the game...

The answer (has nothing to do with the CU, so I'm not breaking NDA here): No, they don't think of "classes" at all. Professions are not the same as the traditional MMO classes. The professions in SWG are colections of skills. A player can invest in skills however he/she sees fit. CM skills are combat related, that means they will be affected by the CU. It's important not to get caught up in the thinking that profession = class.

All I know is that as long as having me around is still beneficial to my squad, I'll be happy with whatever happens.

I pray for more support abilities, and if we get hit with a nerf....so be it. But unless you have a doc with you, even a little poison is going to take you down, just takes longer...lol
I do like the things I heard about wounds having more effect on the battlefield....you could stretch that tothink our disease may have more use now. It's all rumor and speculation right now, but I'm not worried, just excited and wish it would get here already
Having a firm date gives us something to look forward too. For those of you who have hit bases since the patch, we are getting alot more use out of our healing abilities these days. Those SF HQ have some serious npc's in them and area stims have been in high demand from my guilds allies lately. It's almost as bad as running the vette, and as a md/mcm I am getting a ton of action.
I love it!!
