how bout we just make it so target takes the wounds instead of the CM??
and make it based on a strict percentage of damage healed such as 5%..
so if i were to heal Texxie for 1200 mind damage he would then immediately suffer 60 mind wounds
that would make me plenty happy.. then i could mindheal to my heart's content..
just a quick thought.. haven't really looked too much into it.. i'll leave that to everyone else this time..
because i'm positive this causes all kinds of problems all over

Although an interesting idea it could be used to grief unwilling players. What if Texxie didnt want mind wounds or would rather clone?

If it required a group/consent like doctor rez, it wouldnt be a problem. I don't honestly see why this would be better, however.

the consent theory is a bit slow. if i see sb dying, and he has to make consent first....
especially in pvp rather a bad option.

make it the other way round. sb has to make some anti consent if he does not want to be healed.

having to consent someone to wound you seams a bit odd doesn't it? I am on a couple people's consent list from past rezes. With your plan, I could walk up to them and if their mind was down a bit and give them a mind wound.
The way it is currently, the CM has to pay attention to what he's doing to ensure he doesn't kill himself. When I'm fighting and a CM heal my mind to keep me going I'm very grateful. If I were to get wounds from it, I'd rather do without in most cases. As it stands now, you can bring a new CM along to a vette run but I'd be hesitant to bring someone that inflicted mind wounds on me unneccessarily.
Right now the CMs can keep the tanks and Docs going until they take too many wounds. If CM gave wounds he would possibly disable the tanks and Docs. The CM learns who gets the mind heals and when as it works today. The only thing learned by the CM giving wounds is not to bring CMs along or telling him outright not to use that skill.

Don't expect any changes to our /healmind ability to make it better/more useful. It was a band-aid fix when implemented...and band-aids aren't meant to be permanent

well the theory was..
they take wounds to avoid death.. or to continue spamming concealshot or whatever they're doing..
it seems more logical to me that they as the injured parties would be adversely affected in the healing process rather than i..
meaning the patient suffers the side effects not the doc/nurse..
if it was coded at a fixed percentage always rounded down.. like that 5% i mentioned earlier.. then i couldn't just spam mindheals on someone who's losing 10 mind and have it adversely affect them in any way..
although i can see why it's been mentioned that this could be used as a griefing tactic.. but frankly.. i can't picture it in my mind how it would be such.. i mean people end up with more blue than they had.. where's the problem?? more blue and 5% more black of the blue you gained.. i can't picture a situation where anyone would complain about that.. (someone use numbers and put it into perspective for me please because i can't see it no matter how hard i try.. but i'm kinda sleepy tonite and not running 100%)

I have a feeling this whole /mindheal issue will become a moot point after combat revamp. I am guessing that the mind pool will likely be healable.
We will see. Only time will tell and those that do know are bound by NDA not to tell us yet hehe

Well, if you've followed the posts by myself, Traigus and Z from the past when we discussed the ability to heal the mind pool of damage..then you'd have a good start.

was about to say the same, heal mind will be pointless if they let us craft those dmg stims novice medics get.
