Thread: Comment about Cure Poison
I'm a Master Doctor/Master CM, and i've heard a lot about Cure Poison being too weak to compete with poisons. In principle, I agree that it is too weak of any real value in large scale combat situations.
I would, however, like to mention something that seems to be lacking in this discussion to date: The ability for a CM to experiment his Potency to a high degree. I could be wrong, as I have not done an in depth test, but it seems that the higher the Potency of the poison, the more difficult it is to take off. If that is the case, then the probable outcome of buffing cure poison will be to decrease effectiveness or range a bit, and add more to potency.
The closest thing i've done to a test is this (incomplete): I created 2 action poison C, 1 experimented to 125 potency, and the other 85. I applied the 85 potency poison to a comrade, and removed it with a single /curepoison. The 125 potency poison took 3 uses to remove.
Again, maybe i'm wrong, but this seems to be the way it works, and it sort of makes sense.
In my book, it would actually be WORSE, as a doctor, to have a low tick poison with high potency than it would be for a high tick poison with low potency. It increases the chance that you will be poisoned and, knowing how most docs HATE poison, the usual knee-jerk reaction is to immediately remove the poison, especially if its mind poison. It wouldforce the doc to burn more mind removing the poison, and prevent them from aiding their comrades.
Looking for any information regarding other tests of this kind, or comments in general

its based on effectiveness, not potency. do a search for the cure poison report i made on the CM and doc forums for test results.
