Thread: I feel sorry for the Real combat medics

I feel sorry for you guys after the CU hits.....Combat medic is so overpowered when combined with a good temp its unbearable . So many people are going to respec we'll probably see a nerf. I did some testing on CU yesterday and today heres my setup


Armor- Advanced battle armor/Stormtrooper


Weapons- T21, LD-rifle


Equipment- Stimpack Ds


Combat Medic Attacks used- Enhanced Hemorrage, Deuterius Toss, Neurotoxin

Rifle attacks used- Headshot, Underhand shot, Torsoshot

Template- MCM/Rifle 44XX/BH X444

REMEMBERING: Use the energy T21 rifle on Assault armor, LD rifle on Recon armor, and T21 on battle armor.

Now following those notes while using that template i was UNBEATABLE in duels.

Some duels i fought

Master Rifle/Master BH/0400CM

Master pikeman( with various other things )

Master Rifleman/Master Doctor/Other things

Swordsman/various other defenses



All in all i see MCM to be very overpowering.

As it stands right now Doctors can barely hold off CM's and the onyl thing that saves them is the Heal Over Time Bacta Infusion ability. For the most part it can hold off all 3 dots and make surviving possible for a doctor. Winning is a whole different story, but surviving is barely possible against a good CM.


Next to see tried is the smuggler's concussion shot snare outside 35 meters with a rifle. That MAY be the only other competition for a CM.

I hope there isnt a nerf 0_o. I also hope CM doesn't become FOTM. If everyone becomes a CM after the CURB it will be their fault for the nerf if there is one.

So you don't want a nerf but you don't want it to be FOTM. You have to pick one or the other!

Hrm interesting so how did you equip a T-21 if you were only 4/4/0/0 Rifleman? Its a Master lvl Certification, same with the Advanced Laser Rifle.

Your right its ganna be a tough combo, same as alot of "root" based templets.

they changed the guns certs to "combat level" certs...so a T21 can be equiped at combat level 60 (not current number, just useing it as an example). On the bright side there will be food to cure both poisen and disease...but they would probably just apply them again untill your tummy is full.

I am not a CM (yet... I have one character on live who is close), but after my PvP experience on TC last night, I thought I'd drop by to see if your community was concerned about this very topic.


I was Master Rifle/ Master Smuggler/ with a little Pistoleer. I declared Rebel Special Forces, and went off to look for some good 1 on 1 PvP. The first guy I found was master CM/Rifleman. I lost after a reasonably close fight, but even using stims I could not keep up with the fire/poison/disease/more fire. I was using root, snare, and all of the tactics I could, but nothing really helped. Next person I ran into was master CM/Pistoleer. Same outcome. Next, master CM/master BH. Same outcome.


All in all, I fought four 1 on 1 battles, and ALL of them were master CM/some other profession. After that I stumbled across a group battle going on, and quickly got ganked by 3 Imps. Two of the three were, you guessed it, CM.


Unfortunately, CM is most definately already FOTM, at least on TC. I hate to see nerfs on ANY profession; I would rather just learn to adjust, or have other professions brought up to the point where they can compete. But Combat Medic is completely unbalanced on TC at this time, and, from my experience, it is the profession that all PvP is centered around.


I hope that they can make some changes before it hits live, otherwise, throngs of people will "respec" to Master CM. Those people will then throw a fit when it is (inevitably) nerfed down to a more balanced level, and they have to grind (instead of using respec) to get whatever the new FOTM is at that time.


I wish the best of luck to all the true, non-FOTM Combat Medics out there...

So you think, because a lot of people are playing the CM on TC it needs to be nerfed? The CM is much much much more powerful on live than it is on TC. I wonder, do you think people are taking CM right now because Doctor might be worthless because all their skills are broken? You were playing a pure combat profession without any basic healing abilities and you wonder why a Combat Based Healing profession teamed up with another Combat Profession beat you? Are you freakin kidding me?


There is no front loaded dmg character now, so if you are aDouble combat profession without basic healing yes you will lose. Because Master Rifleman + Master Smuggler and Some Pistoleer, only grants you styles, nothing more. Most of your accuracy and speed mods would be based on Pistol or Rifle and even if they were General Weapon Speed increases, anything over 90 really doesnt do a whole lot for you. So Rifleman + Pistoleer = Stupid, Rifleman or Pistoleer + Combat Medic or Doctor (when its fixed) = Smart.

I think you misunderstand me. I do notwant CM to be nerfed. I have been building one of my toons toward CM in live. I am concerned that itwill be nerfed due to it becoming the next FOTM, as a majority of PvPers may respec to it.


It does seem to be somewhat stronger than other professions right now in the CU, which is why so many people are taking it (or like you said, it is a better alternative than Doc). If that many people respec to CM when it hits live, and it is still as strong as it is on TC, the other professionswill cry nerf. I don't want to see that happen any more than you do; better to fix it now in TC.


The CU is trying to achieve profession balance; if you don't have CM in your template in the CU, you're at a disadvantage for PvP. This may be "smart" for CMs, but it is not balanced. Saying "well, if you want to win you have to take a healing profession" is exactly the type of problem the CU is trying to fix. Please believe me, I am NOT calling for a nerf on CM. I would much rather see other professions brought up to par with higher damage or better resists. I'm just agreeing with the original poster that, if it stays this way, it will become FOTM, which will result in the the "real" Combat Medics suffering a nerf. The reason we are testing on TC is to get these things worked outbefore it hits live; better to give a little now than a lot later.
