Thread: CH/DE Changes and the effect on us. Must Read

There was a large post of an overhaul coming to the CH class to reduce the effects of dabblers being able to grasp the power of the CH profession, and thereby limit Pet Wars. This is a post that every CM should read.

Little is being done to Master CHs but dabblers are hit. Non-CHs will only be able to wield lvl 10 pets instead of 15, so say goodye to rock beetles, cowardly currecks and mountian krevols.

Their power is being spread out among theirs to prevent dabbling, which is good.

I would call your attention to the first tier line as having a large impact upon us. CHs will soon be able to explicitly call the special attacks of their pets. In other words, CHs will explicitly be able to poison opponents using quenchers and disease using mereks...not rely on random chance. This will be a big change, and I given the relative population of CHs out there to us...we may not be the ones throwing the most disease (well until AOE becomes active). For those that want truly unique type of damage for us, they'll see thsi badly. For those who want to disease and have anti-nerf armor...you just got a set of composite.

Secondly and also importantly please read the Dev Vision on Droid Engineers which will take a bit longer to implement. These guys have needed loving ofr a long time. I would call your attention to the section on pending changes to med droids...

They will have stim ability added to them and they will be able to tend to incapped players. While it seems to me that this cannot be done to change a mind incap, this has implications upon us as well, and I believe is a further signal as to the dev's intentions of our ability to incap people and finish them off at a time of our choosing. This section really didn't have enough detail in it regading the rules...will anyone have a travelling medic or can only a medic use them? This is a huge issue for all healers if anyone can by a medic to unincap them and heal them.

Anyway, both of these large posts yesterday shape our discussion regarding poison/disease. I would encourage each of you to go have a look.

Very good post and you brought up a point I was about to make. If people have their own medic droids attending them, it might indeed be very hard for a combat medic to kill anything.

I brought some of these up on the Doc forum as well. I will only point out that for the DE changes those are things they said they were "considering" not that those were things that surgical droid WILL be able to do. I have some issues and I think most of the medical professions will as well depedning on the details fo how these abilities, if they were implimented, will work.

I have asked to see if we can get some kind of clarification on some of the details they are considering and would like to get all the opinions I can (at least from the Docs, if nothing else) on how some of theose things could or should be implimented in surgical droids and any other suggestions we might have for the DEs on what we would like to see in Surgical, or other, droids.

On the first point about poisoning and diseasing on command. Excellent point. I really think this gives us a ton of ammo in making sure that our poisons are superior to what any of the CH pets can accomplish. If any creature can poison or disease better than the average, unadvanced, version of a C poison then I think we've got a problem and would have a TON of justification to improve our abilities, or reduce the MOBs abilities. Somehow I don;'t expect the MOBs to have their abilities lowered since it would not only affect the pet version of the MOB, but also the ones we fight in the wild. I would expect that a BE-engineered pet of the highest level with these abilities probably could have a slightly better than average ability in this respect (say, no better than what we coudl achieve with a set of 600 or 700 rated set of resources across the board.)

At any rate, that's just my opinion on the matter.

healing droids, as seen on other droids, should have low health / resist.Any shot from a weapon should drop a surgical droid. that solves problem of healing incapped in PvP.

I like the Idea of lowering the Pets for non CH personally. I would be in favor of removing pets from non CH.

I pray that the Devs really think throughthe Medical Droids though. Yes they are a good Idea, but they must be sure to be balanced. One suggestion would be they need to be serviced by a CM or Doctor and possibly a Bio Engineer fairly regularly(Not Medics)to maintain thier healing abilities(Basically loading stims of various types). Hence making them really only useable by a Elite Medic class, also making them weak Armored for PvP to stop any abuse there.

Just a thought

From what i can see so far Z, the strong poison tamables are about a 300 tick variety. BEs might be able to tweak that though.
