Thread: Simple Solutions to DOT attacks!

First off please forgive me. I try to keep up with the forums and find that I have less and less time to give them a good read.

I have read the +1 solution and have to say that I am against this. I think there is a better solution to this.

Take away our advanced components!

I play on the Gorath server and been trying for MONTHS to get a stash together to make Advanced Components. Been checking SWGCRAFT.com, talking to Artisans, etc.. especially the eleton gas doesn't exist on Gorath.

Most CMs I encounter in PVP have to do the same as me.. get within 35-40m and throw. I had always thought this was a proper attack for a Combat Medic. Usually I wait in the back of a group of fighters and start off being the Stim machine. In the heat of the battle I burst in and toss!

In the past I had read on the forums people getting one TICK then incapped. Tossing 80m plus from a target and such. I asked how they do this and the response was with Adv Components. This does not occur on Gorath! If it does I don't see it and I try to involve myself in PVP as much as possible. Ticks never happen for more than 420.

Personally poisons SHOULD incapacitate. One half of our character's skill is devoted to Chemical Warfare! I didn't spend my time working on a character that makes another player "feel bad" for a little while.

i am sorry, personally I do not see this as a solution. The advanced components are a necessity to make a poison that will do any real damage. Also this proposal would not directly address the problem of the incap dance or grace period.

I know in comparison my poisons are weak, but without advanced components I can get area poisons to tick for 200+ and individual poisons to tick for 350+.

Comparing with my Pistoleer attacks (stopping/fan shots) in PVP it makes the damage from my gun and from my poison on the same level.

By the way Kave if you happen to look over this thread again I wanted to take moment to tell you that I think you are doing a fantastic job! Keep it up!

Personally I think that would make our poisons far too weak, so I would really hate to see something like that implimented, personally.

I don't think it addresses the no-incap rule at all, though, because as Kave mentioned the reasons for the change don;t have anything to do with DOT attacks, per se, but with the incap dance from the delay timer poisons have on incap.
