i have been a master combat medic in the past (had to drop it because the evil glowing dictator said so), and have created an Alt who is on the way to master now. at the moment (ther servers just went down) i am 0/0/2/2 but i plan on power gaming the next two days and so i should be able to get to 4/4/4/4 by Monday afternoon or so, and then it is justa matter of getting the AP..yuck

i LOVE the CM profession. i think it is because in RL i work as a PCT in a hospital. i have always played a character with at least SOME healing ability in the game. whati love about CM is the ability to be running by a total stranger who is having trouble with a mob or better yet a GROUP of mobs, and just lob a ranged stim C and watch them COMPLETELY heal up when they had no idea it was coming. it is cool to watch them drop the mob, and even on occasion get a 'thx'

actually, crafting isn't that long, took me few hours last night to go trough with ABECs.
it's pretty fast to cap the xp then get trained for the next box, then -if you capped it before- you'll have half of the next box, wich is psychologically good to continue...

sorry i was not trying to bate. i will get my character to 0/0/2/4 by healing in cantinas or even finding someone to tumble while i heal. once i can throw AREA stim Bs i will finda quite corner in a crowded cantina and set to work crafting. i keep an eye on ONE entertainer, and craft away. when that entertainer gets low in action, i lob an area stim and get Med XP for everyone i heal. this way i am always doing SOMETHING to gain XP, crafting or healing. i don't let a moment go by where i am just sitting in the cantina, not gaining XP.

you can try crafting Advanced Biological Effect Controlers, and if you do not have the Tatooine Fiberplast and Lokian Wild Wheat, you can just craft regular BECs. be sure you do it in practice mode so you get the small XP bonus and your backpack does not fill

it gets mind numbingly boring doing this, so i often put a movie on and just click the buttons i have to when the time comes. you can gain plenty of XP taking your character out to fight mobs, poison and disease them and let the XP build. i am just sort of in a hurry because i miss the profession, so i am going to blast through as fast as i can (MOST UN-fun) so i can get back to where i want to be with the class.

After tooling around for months, it took me the better part of a day and a half to finally master the profession.

And yes, I enjoy it.

In my case I was already 1014 when I power leveled to Master Friday and Saturday, but I suppose it can be done. I healed AFK entertainers and healed wounds at starports to level CM Support 4, after that, single use poisons are your best friend.

I couldn't get the med crafting macro that's posted on these boards to work so I bit the bullet and just hand crafted ABEC's last night for 4 hours. As others have said, its mind numbingly boring but it is possible to climb the whole tree in a few hrs if you keep at it, with no macro. You just need enough lok wheat and tat fiber.

Is there such a thing as an Area Stim for wounds? Thanx for the reply.

I did it in a few hours (was already master doc though) just went to Coronet and buffed people 1000 +xp every few seconds and the med xp goes quick (plus ou get paid), then just a few hours of abec grinding and was good to go. And if ya get bored of buffing people go to cantina and wing a few area stims around and xp goes fairly fast that way also.

Like I said master doc made that quick... So it is possible if you have the right setup for xp.

Took me 3 days of healing in a clone center outside of an area where there was alot of PvP. Got some good Heal Bs and went to work on people as they cloned. The ones that got hit by commandos were always realy messed up. Fast easy XP. Was decent money too as I never asked for tips but they came pouring in.

I did it in 3 hours or so (was even faster then image designer) because I was master doc. You can buff people for the xp or I just buffed my pets over and over and sat next to the combat medic trainer...easy to master
