I know how irritating a holo-grinding question is for all you folks that are dedicated to this profession, but hey, I yam what I yam (a holo-hore). Anyway, I was wondering if there is a useful guide for grinding combat medic. I looked around the forum but couldn't find one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

Ooh I'm glad I caught this one Ok, now I don't do this because I believe in leveling myself rather than "grinding" but I have heard a lot of good ways. The different experience types:

Medic Experience: Ok now this one is easy, you have 2 very good choices.

1.) Get a high level Creature Handler and a Commando with at least Flamesingle 1 (Flamesingle 2 will go faster.) They duel, the commando sets the pet(s) on fire, and /peace while the Creature Handler constantly tells his pets to follow him. Result? Pets with completely black health bar. Now you buy some nice Health Wound packs, as high as you can use with your medical useage. Just heal the pets up, you will get very good experience very fast.

2.) This one requires spare points. You go up the doctor line, thus letting you use higher level meds and, most importantly, buffs. Then just go to Coronet or another highly populated area and /shout that you are buffing for free. You will get experience very fast this way. I'm not sure how high you have to be in doctor to be able to use the good stuff, so you might want to ask one.

Medical Crafting Experience: Ok this one is slower, but doable.

Buy loads of Lokian Wheat and Tatoonian Fiberglass. At some point during the medic base profession, you will be able to make Advanced Biological... somethings. I can't remember exactly, but they take 16 of both. You just grind with that, you will make it in what, 5-6 hours? You might want to get a crafting macro to help you, since it has perfect timing. NOTE: There are certain 3rd-Party programs that allow you to craft AFK. Using them is strictly prohibited by the EULA. So don't ask me what it is called. Ok here is for the macro, which is legal and very widely used for grinding:

Good luck! Don't hesitate to post any questions!

Thanks much, that's good stuff. Actually, the more I look at the profession, the more interesting it gets. When I initially got the game, I went MBH (pre-boosted xp patch) and that just didn't leave enough time or skill points to see what else SWG had to offer. I guess the fact that Jedi missions don't work was sort of a blessing in disguise because I've enjoyed playing these other professions. Fortunately, after doing chef, crafting for just about anything else doesn't look too terribly bad. Thanks again for the info. Any other tips or tricksof the tradewould be greatly appreciated.

the advanced biological effect controlers are far and away the best way to go. i have mastered CM once and am doing it agian with an Alt. both time i reached "Toxicologist" long before the healing trees. just craft everywhere, at the starport, at the shuttleport, waiting for pets to come back to you black barred, craft, craft, craft.

once you get to novicecombat medic i would suggest you climb the Support tree first. it will allow you to use more powerful Stims. when you get to 0/0/0/3 (though you should get to 0/0/4/3 first if you are crafting all the time) you can start to lob Area Stim Bs in cantinas across the galaxy. as i stated i am mastering the profession agian with an Alt because i LOVE being a combat medic, and currently i am getting 2k-3k med XP per toss in a CROWDED cantina. the trick is not to lob a stim every 15 or 30 seconds (which IS tempting) but just wait. watch the HAM of a Master Dancer, or an Enthraller and when the action is more than half way down, lob your stim. this can take up to 2-3 minutes, but if there is not another CM tossing stims every 15 seconds, you WILL get 2k XP and sometimes 3k XP per throw

three words: tumble to standing

that works great. its fast and cheap. have someone make a macro to repeatedly /tumbletostanding, this will lower their action super fast. have them equip armor to drop it faster and if you can get them an action buff, just action not the secondaries. then get some nice stim packs, like stim e's or something and you can set yourself a macro to /healdamage every few seconds... the delay is going to depend on how fast your tumbler is losing action. i think mine was around 18-24. i prefer this method because its cheap.

some people like to disease a friend and then heal their wounds, which is better xp then tumble to standing, but you have to keep reapplying the disease. i used this for a bit of quick xp at the end when i knew i wouldnt be sitting there for 2 hours doing it.

or you could get up to novice CM and throw area heals into a really crowded cantina. that one is nice cuz it doesnt require another person to help you. the only problem here is if theres another CM there doing the same thing yet not gonna get any xp worth you while. or if you dont have a crowded cantina. i used coronet cantina once and got about 20k in like 15-20 minutes.

-edit- just realized someone else postest about the cantina thing

As I just became a CM not long ago, I had my alt gather up all of the resources I would need to "grind" my way to then end of the crafting line. Here is exactly what you need to do it:

Gather 18k each of Tatooinian Fiberplast (chemical) and Lokian Wild Wheat (Flora). Make sure you get the right stuff... Corellian Fiberplast will not work, nor will Lokian Domesticated Wheat... it is very specific so be careful. These numbers should take into consideration failures and such, but it never hurts to get extra. Goto a large city and buy 4-5 Food and Chemical Crafting Tools. Put them in F1-F5 (toolbarSlot00 - 04). If you want to click fest it, just make approx. 1000 Advanced Biological Effect Controllers in practice mode and you will be done (approx 18 exp per ABC made). Now you will need training in there somewhere. If you want marcos to help save your wrist and fingers, I will write them below.

Macro Template:

/ui action toolbarSlotXX;

/pause 2;

/selectDraftSchematic XXX;
/pause 5;
/nextCraftingStage;
/nextCraftingStage;

/createProtoType practice no item;
/createPrototype practice no item;
/pause 3;
/ui action toolbarSlotXX;

Ok here is how to make it work:

Create 5 new macros (I called them Grind1 - 5) and copy the above macro into each.

Put Grind1 into F13 Grind2 into F14 and so on.

Then edit each to create a continual loop.

Grind1 should call the Crafting Tool in F1 (Slot00) Grind2 F2 and so on.

The DraftSchematic is tougher and may take some experimenting. You can try counting, but I found that it was hard to tell what went to what tool. Try 130 and then see what comes up and then look at you schematic and count up or down, then subtract or add that to 130. That should take care of it.

Finally the last /ui call should call the next maco in line. Grind1 should call F14 (Slot13) Grind2 F15 and so on until Grind5 which should call F13 (Slot12) to create the loop.

Once you have it all set, you should be able to hit Shift+F1 and start the never ending loop. You still have to click on the resources, but it is alot less then if you didn't have the macro. If you are having problems click on the resources fast enough, just adjust the second pause by a second or two.

As for med exp, the above suggestions work great. Some people tumble in a med center on large planets and you can stim them to gain exp, but that is slow and costly if you don't want to make you own stims. Area Stims and Healing damage are still the best. Good luck and maybe you will like it enough to come back after the holo grind is over.
