I think everything is all right with the CM but on one thing, AoE diseases.
If a CM throws an AoE disease, what special power grants the CM and his allies immunity to his disease?
None
I think all players within the AoE should be affected by the poisons/diseases.
Biological / Germ warefare doesn't discriminate. If I were to lob some mustard gas to my enemies and they were in the same vicinity as me. I better have a gasmask myself. AoE poisons/diseases should affect ALL in the vicinity, not just those marked as enemies.

Friendly Fire was discussed and dismissed long ago.
If we were to use your logic, then what would keep a grenade from hitting friendlies in the area? Or a flamethrower from burning a buddy who got a bit too close? Or the pointblank area from taking out your own groupmates along with the enemy? Or a TK using spin kick and accidentally KDing his own friends? The list goes on and on...
If you apply friendy fire to one attack type, then you'd end up having to apply it to all specials.

Interesting idea, now add that the CM can build an antidote or better yet, a vaccination for his own disease. You would have the vaccination match the serial number for the disease and innoculate your party/pets before battle. Since every disease in the world is a little different, thats why serial number would have to match. And since we have the ability to create the disease, we should also know how to protect against it.

concidering thatsome critters aoe effects affect their 'lairmates' as well lends some credence to this idea. Ever see a voritor disease a dasher right next to it, and the two of them end up fighting each other over it? It happens
