hey there. just thought you guys should be aware of a problem i noticed.

i am a novice combat medic. i have a 2-1b surgical droid equipped with a lvl 2 medical module and a food/chem crafting station. ( might have more stuff in it but thats all the de that sold it to me told me about). it is listed as having a 45 medical capablity rating.

well anyways, normally i heal for anywhere from 150 to 600 with Small stimpacks -C. tonight when i got home from work i made adozen class C packs and proceeded to go heal the dancers in the cantina.

after 3 or 4 packs i whipped out my droid to start making some health poison packs. and as i was healing people i noticed i was only healing from. after burning thru 1 pack thinking maybe i had a class A that i had missnamed. in the middle of the second pack still healing for 80-175 i stored the droid and my heals immediately jumped back up to the normal 150-600 range. call the droid again and the heals dropped off to 80-200.

i also tried this with my mouse droid also with a 45 medical capability rating with the same results.

neither droid lets me heal wounds in cantinas, altho i can use it to heal wounds in the middle of a battleground, or anywhere else ive tried it.

all in all i should probly have just bought a protobot with a food/chem unit. as these medical droids currently are extremely broken.

heres hoping they fix this stuff.

I hate to say this. Your med module at effectiveness 35 is your problem.. yuo're healing for about 1/3 your normal.. Do you think 1/3 (33%) and the modules effectiveness (35) having similar numbers might possibly mean anything?

I hope a droid with 45 medical capability does not translate into 45%, that makes no sence. I could understand if it meant 145%, but your numbers don't jive with that. Perhaps they broke it in the patch? I wouldn't be surprised. As far as the permakill thing on droids now, I'm scared to pull out my advanced R2 unit witht he works. I've seen him go incap a few times, which is beyond me sence he can't fight. You think the AI would know to leave passives alone, but maybe the code was written by a butcher?

A medical droid with a 45 medical rating will make medpack weaker than if you were using them in a Medical Center (it is 45% of the Med Center not 145%). Also, the droid medical rating does not stack on top of the Medical Center rating. Up until this patch the Medical rating has been broken and all medical modules made healing the same as in a Medical Center.

That said, it sounds like A_Random_Guy has found a bug that changes the stimpack efectivness when the droids medical rating is in effect. I suggest you /bug this with as much info as possible and give a step-by-step process here so we can find the problem and /bug it ourselves.

hey Joey- from the tone of your post it seems you think it makes sense that a peice of gear is LOWERING your healing capablities.

i bet you cant wait for the rifle mods that make them shoot even slower for less damage.

yes i know that my droid is cheap. yes i know there are better droids available.

it is still makes 0 sense how a droid is lowering my healing capablities. this post was put up as a warning. if you choose to ignore it thats up to you.

Wound Healing * medical rating = working as intended

Damage Healing * medical rating = broken

Droids do not function in cantinas.

Okay, I must apologize if my tone sounded that way. What I do know is that, by design, droids affect your wound healing. The more efficient the droid, the more effective the heal. My MSE with 35 Med adversely affects my wound healing. This is by design, actually. Med centers are where wounds should be healed, ideally.

This should _not_ affect your stims though. Definitely enter a /bug. Talk to other medic/combat medic/doctor players and have them verify your bug. Havethem enter a /bug as well.

I really shouldn't have been as dismissive, I had to explain to about 10 other medics last night that, yes, med modules are finally working so that their wound heals are diminished unless they havea high quality med module on their droid.

The sparkly lights in the cantina and all the skimply clad women must mess with a droids circutry cause them to not work.

Agreed, the fact is, is that a medical droid should at the very least, increase your ability to heal.

just fyi. I believe med droids are not supposed to work in the cantina on purpose. it is my understanding that the devs wanted to do this to keep the functions of the cantina and the med center seperate....

No they shouldnt. They should not increase your healing ability in the slightest. It is giving you the priveledge and the ability to heal in the field, outside of a med center. THAT is the benefit. Now if they made it that droids made your heals better then no one would go to the med center, the would flock to the guy by the bank with his mouse droid out. This is as intended and is a logical decision.

However: The fact that it is reducing your stim effectiveness IS A BUG. the Wound packs are the only things that should be affected by the droids ability.

here's another good one, i was in a group in LoK tonight, had my medical 6/ food crafting station R2 unit out, outside of the group. low and behold the very first fight we get to the mobs instead of attacking one of the 8 players in the group that agroed it, it decides to permakill my droid. what a total load of crap that is, never have i seen my droid get agro before if it wasn't grouped with me.

35K credits down the drain, and now destroy missions are only worth half the reward now, which means it will be a long time before i see another droid......

these nerfs are killing this game.
