I've been busting my tail because I want Combat Medic.. most people want to fight soley or be a doctor (boring).. I like being very solid in both. I have some schematics made for some stims and the like, but......and I don't know if this is a stupid question or not......I have no idea where to use them to get them made in bulk? (I'm so sick of crafting them on my own) Do I have to have a factory somewhere or can I use one? Where would I go abouts finding a factory to use? I like to think of myself as fairly intelligent..hehe (well maybe not!) but I haven't a clue! I have some pimped out schematics I want to use, but no clue! Help!

Thanks guys!

Yes you will need a factory to use those schematics. I hope you still have good quantities of the resources you used to make those schematics, you'll need them. Factories can be purchased from Architects.

This gets a bit complicated... maybe someone could direct you to a factory guide that is already out there.

Heres how it (pretty much) works

You need a factory. You can either pay an architect to make you one or if you can find someone willing to let you use thiers, there is an option for the owner to add people to the 'allwoed to use' list.. however, i think thats partly bugged at the moment

Once you have a factory to use you need to make the schematics (useing a crafting station etc.) An important thing to note is that you must use the same resources in the factory as you used in makeing the schematics. In other words, if you use xyzion hide and abcion copper to make schematics for stim pack A's then you need to use xyzion and abcion resources in the factory production as well.

Ok, you now have the schematic, made to the best of your abillity, you have plenty of the diffrent resouces you used in makeing the schematics and you have a factory. Aside from that you'll need power (theres diffrent forms of power resources, either one will work) and credits to pay for maintanace on the factory.

Pay maintanace and deposit power into the factory. Then, from the options menu, select the schematic slot and load your schematic into the factory. Open the input hopper (also under option) and add your resouces. Select Start operation

The factory should now produce as many items as the schematic were made for, as long as you added sufficient resources and power

Note. To create items with various sub components you will first have to make a schematic and produce these, then add them along with the other resources into the input hopper. Like other resources. Each sub component must be identical to the one used in createing the schematic. Currently theres a bug that prevents you from simply adding the sub-component factory crate to the input hopper, so add these by takeing them out of the crate first, then add them one by one to the input hopper (i belive there is a work around, but from what i understand its really more difficult that simply hand loading the sub components)

Hope this helps

Actually with the latest patch if you are on the admin list you are able to use the factory.

The work around is actually very simple. You just need more than one of each component crate type in the hopper. Therefore, the way i work is like this:

For now keep making your stuff by hand. While you do, gather piles of resources. Gather a massice pile of Fungus, and another huge pile of insect meat, as these will be important later. By huge, I mean 30-40k, all of the same type, of Fungus, Fibreplast, Aluminium. Also get together 10k or so of Inert petrochem, radioactive, liquid petro fuel, reactive gas, and the aforementioned insect meat. Each material variety must be of an identical type if at all possible, and as high quality as possible.

Next, you need to make your subs. This MUST be done in the factory. You can make the subs as soon as you are done advancing up the DOCTORS crafting tree, as that is what decides their quality. You are going to need at least some of ALL the component sub-assemblies. Personally I would say that for every stim I use a ranged stim. Every fifth stim i use a wound pack and a poison pack. Therefore use this to work out how many of each component you should craft, pro rata.

Decide how many of each item you are going to make, and enter that EXACT number into the schematic. You will see why in a minute. Give each component a unique name, like SUPERSTIm or whatever, as it will make things much easier later. Experiment to merry hell, to produce the best components you possibly can, as they make a big difference to your stims. Make all of your schematics, for the entire component set, so that you can adjust amounts on later ones to allow for any fails on the earlier ones.

Go to the factory, and access the ingredient hopper. Dump ALL of the ingredients for ALL of the different components you will be making in the hopper. This saves you having to carry them around anymore. Load up your first schematic, and let the factory rip. Once it finishes, DO NOT remove the components from the output hopper. Just load the next schematic, until you have all of your components in the output hopper.

Now when you make your final products, all you need to do is transfer the crates from output hopper to input hopper. The output hopper is HUGE. When you make the products, take one crate of each sub out, then when the schematic is made, stick whats left of the crates into the input hopper, along with any loose components you have, and another crate of each. You must make sure that the input hopper contains at least two crates of each sub, or it wont work right.

I KNOW this all sounds complicated, but all it really needs is some advanced planning, and you will be very glad you did it this way later. My biggest problem has always been the storage and filing of sub assemblies, and this covers it.

Thanks for the tip Sprout, the last post i read about it made it sound a lot more confuseing

For the inital poster askeing about factories, if Sprouts describtion does sound a bit complex, book mark it, and re-read it once you done a couple of factory run to get hang of the basics.. makes a lot more sense then

Maybe I forgot.. but weren't games supposed to be fun and relaxing? lol

I will try working with all this *drama* and hopefully get a factory going soon.... although, since the update patch recently... it's much harder to make decentmoney on Coriella.

I really appreciate all of the help guys! Thanks a lot!
