When fighting PvE what attacks to you use, targeted attacks or general attacks?

Combat medic poisons (and diseases to the extent that you use them in PvE) target a single pool for damage. So assuming you are a combat medic-pistoleer, and assuming you kill a target by eliminating its health pool, any damage done to action or mind is "wasted". So, after tossing a health poison and maybe a disease, do you then use stoppingshot for the raw damage, or healthshot2/bodyshot3 for the targeted damage? Similarly with carbineer and cripplingshot vs legshot2, and every other combat profession.

As a part carbineer, thus far I have been using an action poison followed by legshot2, and have had success with it. I was curious what everybody else has been doing though.

If I'm not out for Carbine XP i go. Action poison, Action shot, Leg shot, Leg shot, Leg shot...

(In large groups it's Area Action Poison, Action shot 2, Action poison on target #1, Leg shottarget #1 untill it dies, Action poison target #2, rinse and repeat.)

Otherwise I just toss of a few poisons to soften the target up and then hammer Full auto single 2 or Burst Shot 2 untill it keels over (charge shot if I land a Dizzy)

I use a decent health poison and Stopping Shot. I find i can poison multiple targetswith singles and fend em off whilst the poisons ticks em down a bit. Just waiting for Fan shot, then i should be able to have some real fun. Multiple poisons damage and multiple Pistol damage.

Mild-Breeze-Trooper, quick question for you. You said you toss an area action poison followed by an individual action poison. Do the two poisons stack, or does the individual one overwrite the area one? I was under the impression that if you tossed one poison C (the area) then a second poison C (the individual), the second one would not take effect. Do you find that the individual poison overwrites or stacks with the area one?

(I hope this question doesn't take this thread completely off track, as threads are wont to do... I still want to hear more about the original topic. )

Since I can't seem to find poison ticks in the combat log. (That is one thing that surely needs fixing) I can't be certain. But as I've understood it Area poisons and single poisons stack, and this is also how it has seemed to me. (Stacking AOE + Single does more damage) You can easily check though by throwing on a friend in duel or somehting. Each poison ticks once every ten seconds. If you throw the AOE poison first, then wait five seconds to throw the next you should see damage tick over your targets head once every five seconds. With the AOE being the lower tick.

Even if the poisons don't stack there is a strategy behindfirst throwing a (weaker) AOE-poison (to do DOT to all your attackers) and then applying a single poison on the target your are currently fighting, so you can drop him quicker.
