Hello all,

I am a Master CM who would like to begin crafting CM supplies for resale. I do however havea few questions before I begin, and if anyone could provide me with answers I would be very grateful.

1) I have heard that Bespin Port and some sort of cake provide experimentation bonuses. Can anyone provide me with the information on these foods/beverages, and what their impact is on the experimentation process?

2) I have heard that whether you use a droid, a stationary crafting station, or work in a Research Center effects your overall experimentation. I have also heard that not all crafting stations are created equal. Does anyone have any information on how these things impact the experimentation process?

3) I have heard that the CM experimentation modifier is hard capped at 100%. I know that this means CM experimentation attachments are useless to me. Does this also mean that food, crafting stations, and experimenting in a Research Center are useless as well? If these things do help, does anyone have information on what the total modifier could be?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

1) Not sure. Never used any of the chef food for crafting bonuses. Might check with the Chef Board if no one else here can answer this.

2) Crafting stations, droids, etc all have ratings. Supposedly, the higher the rating the better the crafting outcome. However, tests have been done that seem to counter this assumption. This is probably something left to each individual to decide. I personally just use my droid.

3) CM Experimentation and CM Assembly SEAs work. All other tapes apparently don't(still trying to get the items to test on TC with...*mumble*). So yes, you can be a 12 point CM

1) I have heard that Bespin Port and some sort of cake provide experimentation bonuses. Can anyone provide me with the information on these foods/beverages, and what their impact is on the experimentation process? Pyrollian cake increases your chance for a successful assembly. Thats the part right after you've filled in the resource boxes and hit "next". As a MCM you usually get "great" assembles although the cake helps youget "amazing" assembles. There difference will give you a large base and higher modifiers to work with during experimentation. Bespin port gives you a small % increase in also get "amazing" successes decreasing the number of experimentation points needed to max out a bar. None of these affect the "maximum" potential of a poison/disease as that is only affected by the resources used. It does let you have left over points to throw into other categories though. Do they work? Up to a point they do. Only BE enhanced stuff has shown me any difference although I do see a difference in the number of "amazing" successes when I use the stuff...but its expeeeeeeeensive. The cake is good once for each item or schematic you craft while the port is good for up to 7 experiment's.

2) I have heard that whether you use a droid, a stationary crafting station, or work in a Research Center effects your overall experimentation. I have also heard that not all crafting stations are created equal. Does anyone have any information on how these things impact the experimentation process? There has been much speculation about this but its been very very hard to prove anything as far as droids and crafting stations are concerned. I have heard my share of succeess stories come from others who use research center cities although there too has seen very little hard evidence. The verdict....well I still make pilgramige's to research centers that have +42 crafting stations when I'm making a new schematic or some "speciality" items. Considering that they could potentially give you any little bonus makes it worth it.

Are you talking about "assembly" or experimentation points? Our skill tapes for effectiveness, range, and speed are broken. There is little hard evidence to show that assembly is broken as well though. Chef foods are a thing unto themselves and do not stack on top of the +25 cap on skill tapes instead they have their own category. Chef food also does not register on your list of abilities and modifiers.Experimentation tapes DO work and its possible to have 12 points of experimentation.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

OK, if it is possible to become a 12 point CM, how many attachments total do I need to achieve that? +20?

Sorry for the seemingly simple questions, this part of the game has always confused me.

Yes +20. Every 10 points gets you an experimentation point.

The cake I know for sure is a one shot deal but then again you only need one shot. The port I made an error when I posted. Was thinking of the percentage increase and not the actual number of experiments (hey I wrote it at 5am). So yes bespin port is only good for one experiment as well.

well, too bad it does not work for 7 tries. but at least i don't feel like a total bonehead for drinking so much of it, lol.

Where did you read that it's good for up to 7 expiraments? Do you mean that after you use 7 your stomach is full? I would think it's the latter since the modifier disappears after 1 expirament.
