Devs have stated that all DoTs are counted towards looting rights. If they are not doing so, /bug it. As ofone or two publishes ago, this should have been fixed.

They did say that dots count a little while back, but I haven't seen it. Not even in xp.

I've seen it. My commando friends are actually useful in getting krayt looting rights again with burns. I'm not sure on xp, but for looting rights dots are working from my point of view.

What poisons/diseases are you using? The only time I can do a significant amount of damage is if I use a high-end Spider Venom poison (prenerf) against a Nightsister Elder or Krayt Dragon. Anything else becomes SERIOUSLY outdamaged by other professions, especially swordsmen and riflemen. Our PvE is weakened except against mobs with serious resists...everything else is worthless.

Dots do give loot rights, and I know for a fact they used to give XP. Atleast 2-3 months ago. I leveled a toon using CM poisons. I got a certain amount of med XP per throw. And just spammed it and leveled doctor in really really fast

However, bleeds, I have yet to try. Ill take a look and do some tests later.

Specifically, the high end mobs that drop the best loot are exactly the high end mobs that we do the most damage to.

Other scenario. I am Master Rifleman, and there is another Master Rifleman trying to KS me. We have the same basic skills, weapons, powerups, he has a better slice. He will currently get the loot. If my CM DoT would count, I would get the loot.

DoT attacks, including diseases and poisons, do not give you combat XP, and I am okay with that.

What I believe should be changed is the way that DoT attacks, again including diseases and poisons, are calculated in deciding who gets loot drops. If a couple of riflemen debilitate the mind pool of a krayt using mind 1 and mind 2 bleeds, coupled with head 3, the bleed damage from mind 1 and 2 should be ADDED to the damage count from head 3, and that should be the basis for the kill stats.

CMs are particularly effected by this, because we can do massive amounts of damage in PVE and be excluded from a loot drop because all of our offensive attacks are considered DoT. I hunted a Peko Albatross and wiped all but 5K from his mind pool, along with about 50K from his health and action. Thats about 175K of damage, all from DoT attacks. A guild mate came to help me finish the thing off, and took out the other 5K if mind, and she got the loot drop (we didnt group in time).

This is an issue that effects every weapon and every profession, and I believe it should be something that is addressed in the Combat Rebalance.
