Thread: Problems with AOE Stims?

Ok, this may have been talked about elsewhere, but I've been running into this more and more lately (gone from never to almost always now).

Mind you, none of these are faction pets. I see these errors mostly when targetting PCs in my group.

Getting "out of range" errors for targets that aren't.

Getting Invalid target errors for targets that aren't.

AOE Stims healing everything but the target itself.

"Out of Range" error but stim still goes off. This REALLY sucks when I'm low on mind.

God knows how many times I've had to reply to a call for help with "I'M TRYING DAMMIT"...

I've gotten the invalid target message, and the stim healing everyone but the target problem on several occasions. Doesn't make any sense to me. The problem appears some days, and doesn't on others.

And before anyone else replies- no, the target or targets in question were not a member of any enemy faction.

Yup, I've had all those problems. Sometimes it happens all the time, other days it never happens. I think it's definately limited to AoE stims since I have never had this problem with single ranged stims, infact I carry singles around exactly for this problem. As soon as it says target out of range...when they are 5 m away...I just throw a single and it works everytime. Hopefully it will get fixed as it has cost a few of my friends theirs lives.

I think the invalid target thing is related to some freaky TEF bug. Like one of your stims into a group hits one guy of an opposing faction (covert even), and then since it cured some of your faction at the same time it gets confused and won't let you cure some people for a while.

Still better than them never working I guess...

Yes, I get a lot of errors, but so far the most frustrating have been the target not getting healed and the stim going off and healing NOTHING because the target is "out of range"...well **edit** did I throw it for then?

ok, bump because this is apparently getting worse. I am seeing this almost non-stop now, especially in PvP situations. Nothing worse than getting a stim off to save a buddy from deathblow to watch it heal everyone around them instead....

Yes, this is very bad especially in pvp situations. Last night while trying to heal my raid, I finally broke down and used singles which I havent used a month. Got the invalid target about 75% of the time, the other I would waste mind and it would say Out of range with noone healed.

I get the "out of Range" message more often now then I did before (last week or so). I have noticed when fighting Kryat dragons everything works fine till I get hit by the dragon or his ae then I have to be withen 25m or so to use a ranged heal where before I was hit I was back 45 or so.

Yeah, the non-healing thing is garunteed in PvP settings as it's related to TEFs (range hits an invalid target in aoe, no one gets healed)....sucks.

The range one I get...but it usually seems due to lag.

A strange one I got tonight was the "No valid medicine" message even though I DEFINATELY had plenty on hand

I've gotten all those messages as well. It only seems to happen in PvP though. If I'm with a hunting group I can go through walls with stims but standing right beside someone and using a ranged stim during a raid.. yea, I can see how 5m is out of range on a stim I can throw of 60m lol.

I have also gott those messages. Another thing That I thought was weird was that when I went to complete this month's quest for a badge....The last group of Rebels that I needed to off, Area Mind Posion did not make them aggressive towards me?

My biggest issue is with the area heals

#1 not healing the person i'm acutally targeting

#2 Being thrown, mind taken, delay timer started, and no heal happens and system message target out of range. Now I have to go run after them and wait for the timer before I can throw again.

This cost the life of the 2 people I was healing and myself last night during PvP.

I get these messages all the time. Even with my normal Stims, I see this. I am 4m away from a target and it says either invalid target or target too far. I look on the right hand corner and my target's name is correct.

I don't know what is going on, but healing on time is critical. This sucks.

I could deal with that possibility if:

A> I didn't still throw the stim.
B> I didn't pay the mind for it.

I have literally spammed heal during a low scenario, tosseda stim, healed no one, and promptly went mind incap, and watched us all die.
