I was on Dath tonight and threw 14 health poisons and didn't have a single failure. Was I just lucky or are the poisons more effective in PvE?

Poisons used to be ridiciously useless in PvE, I'm pretty sure they dropped their resists abit.

You were'e particularly lucky. I find that with potency >90 I get very few resists in PvE. Unlike the previous poster, I do find poisons useful in PvE. In cases where a lair has 4 tough social animals, I will poison all 4 (sometime with singles, sometimes with an area depending on what else is nearby). Not only does it help th group bring down the first mob faster, when thy switch to the next target, it will already be partially damaged. Of course if you are in an overkill group that simply slaughters everything quickly, poisons don't have time to work and don't add much. Otherwise, they do speed up killing and allow us to run missions faster.

healthpoisonC + healthshot1 + healthshot2 + bodyshot2 = dead mob

pretty usefull to me, i can even take down somered con mobs solo using that technique. Add a tank pet and your pretty much set.

Potency over 90 is it. Very useful for area poisons, but in direct i prefer max base.

do you have to have your stim c's made with all advanced to get a potency that good? I have all 900+ OQ normal resources for these and mine is only 58.

Try experimenting ease of use on your resilliance compound instead of effectiveness.

Some of my weaker poisons do about 6600 dmg in 16 tics, 51 dps (128 sec) Thats a health poison C. When I go Krayt hunting I use that and an AE C that does about 4992 dmg in 16 tics, 39 dps. With the stacked (yes STACKED, you can stack target and AE poisons) damage on fights that sometimes last about 5 minutes or more, it is a welcome addition to thegroup'sdamage output.

A pikemen friend of mine can stack on around 2500 per tick worth of bleeds, then continue pounding on the target. For poisons to be effective in PvE they need to be at least as powerful as good bleeds. If we could add 3000 point per tick poisons to help out in combat, we would come much closer to full filing out "combat" role of support as well as our healing role. Making us effective at adding damage in PvE encounters.

This would obviously have to have the standard reduction in PvP, taking it back down to somewhere around the 300/tick to a player it has now.
