I've been hearing about people who are collecting all this cool loot such as force crystals and holocrons, etc, etc. I haven't been able to find any of these items because, frankly with the CM/Doc professions its rather difficult to take on a Dark Jedi and the other various creatures that drop these type of items.

I know that no one knows the actual way to open a FS slot, but I'm curious what you think the role in collecting this stuff will play in opening the slot and how theMedic professions may open the slot. I believe that there are multiple ways to open a slot and you are not be required to be an offensive profession.

Any thoughts?

Personally I think.....wait a sec. Hopefully this is the ONLY post about the FSS on the combat medic forum.

My opinion is that SOE will somehow choose someone by having actual people, perhaps a group, look at people and award them based on their gameplay. This is the easiest way I see them being able to make it equal for everyone, regardless of what they do. I am probably wrong though. I just want to be a good medic support character thank you very much. Now if being FS lets me use Area Disease C or lets me heal a 100m radius, I want it!

According to a number of comments by the Dev's all classes have an equal chance of getting the force sensitive slot. Obtaining the slot is theoretically not based on missions or loot (how else would a full time artisan get the slot?) so those loot drops can't be part of gettign the slot.
I'm willing to bet that they are important for a Jedi once he has the FSCS. He/She will need to make that lightsaber out of something, and according to the extended SW Universe a crystal is a key component. The holocron's will also play a huge role for the Jedi, they will have special help for Jedi characters.

After hearing that all of the previously collected Holocrons were shattered I'm thinking that they are not that important and that CMs, Medics, and Docs should have a decent chance to get a FS slot. The new holocrons sound like a way to give FS characters their skills (since live Jedi trainers would be rare) instead of just clues to unlocking the slot. This is all just wishful thinking on my part however, because a scavenger hunt or paying rediculous amounts of cash for rare items doesn't sound like a fun way to become a Jedi to me.
