Thread: What states does Shock effect?

I know in the CM FAQ it says that Shock lowers the resistance to state effects, but I was wondering if by "state effects" this refers to things such as Blind, Dizzy, etc. or if it includes the CM effects, such as Thyroid Rupture, Electrolyte Drain, etc.?
good question, never tested it. I dont think Shock helps to stick the deBuffs (Thyroid, Elect. Drain), but that's just me.

It definietly helps dots!
indeed
my combo ftw= paralyze, shock, Thyroid, Traumatize (or hemorrage if not a healer/jedi) Elec drain, back off, confusion shot (stun+dizzy) from BH, KD, DoT's, adv. crit shot from BH.
Okay, so I just respeced to Master CM a couple hours ago. Was playing with Paralyze and such. I could do Paralyze, Thyroid, Electrolyte, but then I had to start running or else they'd get up and hit me. Is there some sort of trick to getting more of these specials off faster? Any tips on preventing the target from damaging (ie. rooting) you while you apply DoTs would be helpful too.

You can apply anything from MCM within 10m range. So stay at 10m. You can get a adrenal boost from a doc to go faster, but these buffs last for like 20 mins max
. use your other profession wisely too, I'm BH, so Duelist stance is good for defence.
Also, remember that applying DoTs= bye bye paralyze
At one point shock helped tremendously in sticking Neurotoxin and Deuterium Toss. When I first tested it (right after CU), I had a 100% stick rate with an MCM using shock against an unbuffed player, vs. about70% without shock. I think its been adjusted since then, because I know I can now miss even with shock. I haven't systematically retested the tick rate though.
When you say it helps DoT's do you mean it extends the duration or just helps apply them?
Otherwise its just a waste of the blue pool.
Shock should only effect the application of Intimidate, Stun, Dizzy and Blind.
There should be no other benefit. Unlike smugglers Overwhelming Shot, the debuff icon doesn't have a number on it similar to "Modify State Resistance -40.00", so you have to imagine it is there.
Shock goes well with Pikeman or Pistoleer as you can Thyroid/Shock/Intimidate for drastic attack power reduction, Overwhelming Shot and Low Blow (attack speed reduction -40.00) stack with CM Thyroid and Shock.
ASmuggler/BH guildmate and I can put -80 combat speed, -80 State resists, Intimidate, Stun (currently broken), Blind and Dizzy on a target which is very useful indeed.

Badger, while it does affect those four states it also affects DoT application. Effects of Debuffs (thyroid rupture, ect) don't seem to be affected though
I wonder if that is intended. I'll do some testing with Overwhelming Shot and DoT application and see if DoT's are classed as a state.
