i am a combat medic and i not sure what to do with it! (riflemen is a no go!)

What do you want to do more of? PVP? or PVE?
I personally have alot of fun with MCM TKA 4404 no matter what encounter I come across.

Well for my playstyle I like my template. I have alot of abilities in TKA that complement CM well.
Other players like to go MCM/Master Riflemen. This can be a deadly combo in PVP but from what friends have told me is pretty useless in PVE.
MCM/Master Carbineer can be pretty decent but you may want to wait for the combat revamp to go Carb.
Just a few combinations....theres more out there but those two seem to be pretty popular.
One of my friends recently went with MCM, Smuggler 0030, TKA 4000 and she seems to like it.

Don't shy away from the Rifleman. With the right stat migration you could do well in both PVP and PVE.
Personally - Im MCM - 4004 Rifleman - 0340 Doc. With this template I get good mind attacks with the rifle to compliment the damage I'm already doing with the poison and with the 0340 in Doctor I can buff myself.
I strongly considered Master Rifleman - but, buffs aren't to be scoffed at.
Also - If you go anything other than a Marksman Elite Profession - you'll never be able to master it (if that is a concern of yours).
