Thread: Advice on Resource Self Sufficiency......

I've currently got twocharacters on Eclipse a Ranger/Rifleman and a TKM/CH. I'm consideringmigrating my Ranger to CM/Rifleman and wish to be as self sufficient as possible on resource harvesting (across my accounts anyway) for the future production of stimms/poisons.

I'm currently assuming that, as the resources will be for personal use only, I only have to use Personal Extractors?

So....am I right in thinking I'll need: 1 x Windpower Generator, 1 x Mineral Extractor, 1 x Chemical Extractor, 1 x WaterVapour Collector and 1 x Florafarm?

Both my characters (at the moment) have scout skills so I can stock-pile meat during the migration process - which will be done over time NOT as a Holo-inspired grind!

I intend giving my TKM the surveying skills - although I do have the option to put them on both characters initially and drop if from my CM/Rilfleman when required.

Any advice on type and number of extractors I should use would be greatly appreciated......as would what resources to stock-pile...!

thanks.

Even if you're only collecting resources for yourself, I still recommend getting heavies for ALL your harvesters. Small harvesters just don't pull up enough resources.

Combat Medics have some very specific resource requirements --and many of them are rare spawns, too. Because of this, you will want to collect as much as possible when a good/rare spawn shows up.

I recommend getting a good fleet of heavy harvesters (2 of each is a good number for self sufficiency)and horde the good resources when they show up. If money is tight, then go with medium harvesterswhich have abase extraction rate (BER) of 10. That is the most cost effective solution.

Once you have a nice stockpile of resources you can then drop your Artisan/survey skills and put those points to use elsewhere.

For power ... fusion generator is the ONLY way to go. Wind and Solar tend to be lower concentrations everywhere. Radioactive power is simply more abundant. When I was relying on wind/solar for power I wasconstantly running out of power and would have to buy power from the bazaar. With my single fusion generator I have collected a nice supply of power to supply all of my harvesters.

To recap ... use heavies (or mediums if money is an issue) only and a fusion generator to power them. Small harvesters simply are not worth it.

I have an alt character that is master arch/master chef and cranked myself out a buncha nice ber 10 mediums for all resources. What i would do is get about 5 of each medium/heavy harvester and when something spawns throw as many on it as you can. You do have 2 accts so you could even drop more than that. The most harvs ive ever had down were 5 DCCE's on very very nice yavin fiberplast. and im already down to under 200k of this :/
