Thread: remove cure poison item cert?

Im curious as to how the cm's out there will react to this idea. I try not to cry nerf, Ireally try, remember this is an IDEA. now on to the point.

What do people think about a cure poison item that ANYONE can use? While I wasin a raid party of 9 people with one doc he could not possably keep up with whatone CMwas dishing out. (This didn't lose the fight for us it was the three riflemen covering the CM, which I don't see as unfair just good planning.) Now if every player had an item that could reduce the poison severity by one step, I think it would've been a longer more interisting fight. Now as I said before, I want the cm's point of view, this is not a shout for a nerf.

Personally, I don't think *everyone* should have the ability to cure poison/disease, but (weaker) AoE cures should be implemented and given to either docs and/or CMs (it would make sense somewhere in the CM trees, but maybe docs can have a non-range AoE one too)

I just wonder maybe medics should be given a weak cure poison and docs upgraded with an AoE... maybe.. just a thought.

Screw doctors they already have everything going for them. Try giving combat medics Area Cure A packs. Cancel a CM with another CM and give us some real support skills.

I strongly agree with the above. A cm should be able to counter another cm. how bout this put a weak singlepoison cure at master medic, and put progessively stronger cures up the cm tree ending with a total area cure at master.

Two comments.


The first is I expect this is related to the mind poison mitigation spice. I envision a spice which when taken nullifies poison fora fewminutes, then the poison starts ticking at a faster rate for more damage. In effect, a temporary cure. (AlthoughI think it should be *all* poisons, not just mind... maybe there is a grand master plan of the devs in regards to that, maybe related to the combat revamp and rebalancing the HAM bars.)


Thesecond is that I agree thatall novice medicsshould be given a form of cure poison. As mentioned in a different thread, due to skill modifications, a novice medic using a cure poison can expect to take around 6 applications to cure a master combat medic poison. (Maybe more if they add in ease of use experimentation.) Hardly a "crippling effect" to poisons and diseases, as six cures from a rifleman, considering the lack of injury treatment modifiers, is a very large number of attacks he or she is forgoing.

The term mitigation leads me to believe the spice will reduce that amount of damage said poison is doing at the moment. Who wants to bet that it will be at least 75%. Dont even want to guess what the downer will be.


Totally disagree with the novice medic thing. The lowest I could even agree with would be low level curing at master medic. Why should they have a cure when they cant even heal a bleed? StimB's already make novice medic more powerful in ability terms than any other novice class. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to cure tons of battle fatigue and major mind wounds in 30sec at novice entertainer? As it stands the only reason to work up past novice medic now is because you want to use stimC's (yeah right) or you're going for Doctor or CM.


Well made cureA packs can knock off 3/4 of the potential damage from any type of poison. Why not give Combat medics a minor area cure? We aren't asking for resucitate (should have been ours anyway), or cure states (should have been ours), or even fire blankets (how about a area water ballon?).
