A combat medic should be able to force toss an area stim onto the ground to heal people. The interface would not be like that, but if a target is out of range or not in line of sight, it should not prevent the cure from being thrown. I know I have been in a combat and tried to area heal people, only to need to spend 3 seconds to find an applicable target for my cure (because party members are moving around in a crowded area with some walls).

I would propose that if you are using an area stim, if you would normally get an "out of range" or "you can't see that" message, you should still toss the stim. It would travel as far as it could until it ran out of range or hit a wall, at which point it would be as if you tossed an area stim there (healing those in the area of effect).

With the new changes to line of sight being blocked by terrain that are being experimented with, if you are fighting on a hill, cliff, or valley infested area, without having a way to force toss an area cure may cause problems in healing. Much like all area effects, just because an area stim can't reach the targeted person doesn't make it worthless.

Note the same argument can be made for area poisons and diseases, and for cone attacks. Whether this is too exploitable or overpowering though is another issue, especially as lack of LoS does not affect either of those (to the best of my knowledge) once the attack is successfully launched. A "benign" effect like curing is less dangerous to tweak though.
