my question is how all the cm/rifleman people get their poison packs

have an alt account and harvest it for your self, buy the packs already made, or get lucky and find a retireing CM to buy his/her old resources/packs.. the resources are kinda rare to spawn.

If you don't want to buy an alternate account (which defeats half the purpose of limiting SP... ), you havea fewoptions, beyond what ak2227 said.

It's always said on this forum that in combat you need to depend on others so bring a doctor. The same is true outside of combat, and this equally applies to combat medics as commandos. You need to depend on an artisan. If you put an order for 10 cpu (or 5 cpu or 3 cpuprobably being better numbers to offer) for the required resources to a artisan (preferable a resource seller), you will likely be able to get a few good stacks of 100k after a few weeks when all the resources spawn. If you do this though, be sure that you are at least passing friends with the artisan, so he or she doesn't forget about it. To further augment this, you can check SWGCraft.com, and notice as good spawn, if you contact any random artisan or set of artisans with a reasonable CPU, they will likely drop everything and go harvesting for you. For that matter, if you buy a set of harvesters, you can probably pay an artisan a few tens of K to find a waypoint for you (presumably a new artisan, which money has more value to), and harvest them yourself. You can mix and match these ideas as you will, to harvest resources.

The second faster, and more expensive, way is to buy them out right. You said no combat medic would sell you the resources. Well, I think what you meant to say was that "no combat medic will sell them *at a reasonable price*". If you offer something like 30 or 50 cpu for good tolium reactive gas or class 2 liquidpetrochemical fuels, I expect you will be able to buy a few tens of thousand resources from a combat medic, even one who is actively selling product on a vendor. As a master rifleman, you should be able to earn enough from running missions such that you can afford it (albeit it will be rather pricy). If this is worth it to you or not is another question, but it's a definite possibility. And if you aren't selling the poisons and diseases, even at 50 cpu (which is much higher than you really ought to pay)you should be able to make a set of more than 50 poisons, which should last you for months.

The third, slow and cheap way, is to look around vendors. You never know what you might pick up. I one time got a stack of 25K of the best tolium gas on the server for 2 cpu from a vendor, simply because the shop owner simply didn't know what it was worth. As with vendor shopping though, this is purely a luck based game. I'm sure *a* vendor on the serverhas what you need, but it might be buried in the middle of nowhere on dathomir, or hidden on an armor vendor south of Coronet.

Basically, there are lots of ways to get resources, depending on how rich you are, and how much effort you want to put into it.

SWGCraft.com is your best friend, look there daily.

Make buddies with a artisan, preferably with a good one at Surveying IV.

Whenever a CM resource hits SWGCraft have your buddy go out to pick up a good waypoint. I usually pay 10k for a 80-90% WP just because I feel bad about people spending time doing booring footwork that I ought to do myself. I also always pay for the trip and for any cloning and insurance.

Then it's just to smack down your harvesters. I make do with mediums, not having enough money to spend on buying the heavvies and not thinking the extra 3-4 BER is worth the higher price, maitenance and power usage.

Sell excess resources. I've sold tolium over the bazaar at 250 units for 6000 credits. Yeah, maybe I should be ashamed... but hell... all you got to do to get a lower price is mail me and ask if I have something to sell.

BTW Yes it is true, I've tested it myself, poison only ticks once every TEN seconds!

I agree here. My guild is fantastic with finding good waypoints for resources for me when I am unable to.

Pick up novice artisan before you max one or the other professions you are working on. Drop it when you can no longer afford to hold off the points. Farm the heck out of everything you can.

Commision an artisan to survey a waypoint for you to drop your harvesters. There are some with their own harvesters who will rent out the work to drop and maintain them. You can usually work something out.

Ask guild members for help finding a particular resource.

Keep tabs on whats spawning and whats not on SWGcraft.com Visit it at least once every two days (once a day is better) to see if what you need is spawning.

Buy your stuff. Its much more costly but you wont be spamming poisons like crazy (even with halva) anytime soon since they dont stack (unless you make a, b, c and areas)

I did the first one and now have to do the second if anything good spawns.
