MCM/MCarbs/Doc4/0/0/0/some FS
Wanted to test out the template vs PvE. Right off the bat I noticed great results. I was able to "CoD" anything I ran across. By CoD I mean circle of death a single mob. This is a ranged profession kiting method for killing big game. It works in grand fashion as a CM. Dropping electrolyte drain on the target following Charge shot, which is a KD, makes the kite possible on all terrain, even without scout skills. I drop shock and hemmorage as I start the run. Then after building up about 30m I drop fire and poison. Run in a circle and the target dies. This has allowed me to solo level 90 Grand Krayts, 84 NS Rangers, 83 Ancient Rancs, and 88 Giant Kimo's.
I do this on the static spawns in the Krayt Graveyard and every once in a while a group comes through and watch. Most don't believe it is possible since the implimentation of the CU. You get called an exploiter and asked if you are a ranger (the pheceptine dart bug). If you say no, the assumption is exploiter. No biggie, anytime you are in a position to do something others aren't assumptions will be made.
I am starting to think that Doctor and CM templates are going to be a must for PvE non-jedi templates in the future. Considering the fact that most of the high end content involves level 84+ mobs it is imperative to have people capable of healing (jedi for now)and rezzing cause let's face it, the high end mobs hit really, really hard now a days. Having a single line is nice but the benefit for PvE players is significant when you have the ability to rez. No true downtime in game while waiting for group members to clone.
If you have CM or Doc and haven't been impressed with the capabilities of the template I recommend playing further and going after high end mobs. The CM especially is geared to kiting and the ability to drop high level mobs has always led to high end loot in the past to a degree. This is compounded by the fact that with CA's, AA's, Bandoliers, and belts you can take your defences for melee and ranged very high.
While the profession still has some issues; range of some attacks, healing power, healing while incapped, and the lack of any discernable realistic aggression from creatures, CM is quite powerful and is indeed a great PvE profession, post CU.
Anyone else have similar experiences with CM post CU?

I have MCM/MDoc/Pistols0004. I can kite anything in game and solo L82 missions without armour.
My Gunman's Duster and clothes look way nicer than the Battle Armour I have to say ![]()
Another handy template I play with is
MPistoleer, CM4404, Doc4004
I find the CM stuff doesn't stick as ofter without the Mastery but the extra abilities from MP make up for it with additional tactics becoming availble.

I'm really enjoying CM, in fact I dropped three lines of FS skills to master it from 4/4/0/3 CM and the difference is very noticeable.
Gone is the Rez arm, more armour instead... the para/rupture/shock/para/drain combo is great in PvE and soloing CL85+ melee mobs has become a bit run of the mill now.
The only down side is the lack of defence compared to a second combat profession and dabbling in a third(even though CM is deemed as combat), I am somewhat fragile compared to some of my ranged fighting counterparts.
