Thanks! Well, you will be certed for both recon armor and battle armor and I would suggest two suits. Your big money suit would be a quad layerPrimus recon suit (you can get a nice black ubese suit or a silver/black tantel). This is yourPvP suit.Most weapons are energy, but there are enough kinetic weaponsout there I would suggest primus over energy layers, Unless you hunt jedi, but you don't with that template.

The other suit would be a battle armor with kinetic layer as you will do A LOT of tanking with your heals in group PvE (which you are best suited for with that template). I wouldn't spend as much money on this suit as its protections won't mean as much in PvE. I would go with a Maurader suit as they seem to look the best. You can do what I did also with the padded, but there is a problem with damage mitigation and your whole suit will be evaluated at your lowest resistarmor piece (this is uncomfirmed, but is the main theory in the armorsmith forum). So my low kinetic ubese helmet is lowering the resisits of the whole suit. That padded helm is just down right ugly!

What's your other profession? A CM is only certed for battle armor. Most people seem to think that Maurader is the best looking of the battle (except for the helm). I have a friend that had made a green and black maurader armor that is really good looking. I am a rifleman too and I use an all black padded (very common) and wear an ubese helm because I have a recon cert. I can answer your question, but I need more info...

What do you fight? PvP? PvE? Jedi? What profession do you use with CM? Do you like a lot of bright colors? or do you like the more subtle like black on black etc.?

So im only certed for battle armor completely

I wear red and black marauder except the legs and the helmet which look sort of sily because i have some BE pants with lots of carbineer/ healing SEAs. I also wear a full red RIS helmet which looks pretty awesome. This battle armor has all energy layers for pvp so it has around 6800 energy and 4800 kinetic and 6000 for all elemental.

The red and black marauder sounds pretty cool...I'll have to look at something like that. Tantel is really the way to go right now for Recon armor. There are some issues right now in the armorsmith forums about problems with the mabari and ubese armors and their combined chest arm pieces causing "holes" in the armor (It's happened before). Also, the way damage is distributed right now, the tantel is providing more bang for your buck as it doesn't wear out as fast (the biceps and arm armor will last you through about six or so chest pieces). This isn't really a large issue for CM's as we are battle certed, but something to keep in mind for you double proffs out there.

Red and white padded or purple and gold padded. The maruader chest is nice but thats about the only part l've ever liked about marauder. The rest looks too much like clothing. Heck a friend of mine wears a skirt with the maruader biceps and gloves for fashion. Its giiirrllly

As far as the "best" goes... Well its all situational. Grinding bols? High kinetic. Avatar platform? High energy. PvP? Layered primus.

and here i prefer red and black padded and kinetic... although my padded hasn't seen combat yet, don't do much kinetic mobs anymore..... honestly suprised my helm and boots havn't broke on my tantel yet
