Thread: problems with cm/rm

Just respeced



im having trouble killing anything with this template. Wondering if i was doing something wrong hehe, or if i should change it.

the biggest problem i see with MCM / MR is the distance. you should really want to take advantage of your 64m range as a rifleman... that is nearly TWICE the distance you can toss your DoTs.


Carbines imho are the PERFECT weapon to go with MCM (which explains why they gave the E5 carbine to squad leader and gave us a pistol )

No I do no have problems killing things with that template. I do not however fire as fast or have as many ranged specials as the BH/insert ranged profession here which has pretty much become the "standard" combat template for way too many.


If you're looking for pure ranged DPS then CM is not the template for you. If you looking for something that has good damage, debuffs, great heals, and is more sought after for content other than FS grinding then CM is the template you want.

And to the poster who said that the ranges don't match - I have to disagree. They mesh perfectly.


You do your damage from afar with rifles. If your target gets too close (or you get multiple aggrosthat end up closing in on you) - CM to parazlye/electrolyte drain/debuff/heal. That buys you the time you need to distance yourself and get to optimal rifle range again.


These two professions work extremely well together.

Im Master BH (old school), Master Riflemen, Combat Medic 0004


I can solo anything because i can kite mobs with electrolyte and kneecap shot, and i do great dmg aswell.

and clearly you are welcome to disagree. you make your template work for you and i clearly make mine work for me. neither is wrong. i just personally like to get in and mix it up with the baddies at about 30-35 meters...just the range of my carbines. i don't feel the need to start my combat from a distance, halfing my ability to inflict damage, debuffs, teror, agony and pain.


we have different play styles and both are good.

Agreed. Never even thought of suggeting that your style would be invalid. =)


But for me personally - hunting krayt/gorax/etc - doing damage from far away, and using MCM to prevent catastrophe should the target get too close - works best with my playstyle.


It's also handy in PvP for melee'ers, jedi, and those pesky pistoleers and their damnable root shots!
