Thread: Good starting move?
Well, a disclaimer here first, I'm not the most experienced PvP person in the galaxy, but with that said, I've had a lot of luck using /paralyze first and hitting them witht he debuffs (especially cutting their attack speed and action regen). That gives me an edge, /paralyze them again whenever I need to heal and just blast away with my rifle!
I would think that is the best way not taking into account specials you may have from other profs (alot of people like some kind of knockdown first before doing what I do).

Just so you know I just respec'ed to MCM from MDoctor because doctor was so dull.I know I don't have the idea template but Im TKM, MCH, 4xxx Comando (I like grenades and the extra defenses look pretty good to me).Anyway, what is the best combination of skills to use on a pvp opponant to start the fight out with as a CM? I have been using thyroid rupture, and fire mostly.Sorry for the newb questions but I do need help. ThanksBTW ... MCM seem a lot more fun than Mdoctor ever did.
You mean you are TKM / MCM / 4xxx Commando, right?
Funny, I just respeced to this exact template! Hehe, I was the melee stack TKM / MS / xx4x Pike with some medic, but I got bored also and came to MCM! And I agree, lots of fun!
However, I am trying to figure out PvP as well. So far I usually start with paralyze or leg sweep to knock them down and apply some states then start hitting them.
But you may be the perfect person to talk to about this because I was just dueling a TKM / MD and he was almost unbeatable. He beat me once (although it did take a while) then he stalled out a jedi (they ended duel) then he dueled me again but this time with another person and a pet attacking him also just as a test! and it took a loooong time to kill him even then!!
anyway, i would definitely like to talk more about TKM / MCM moves, and maybe hear what you have to say about going up against TKM / MD.
Rong-Wei wrote:Well from what I have tested so far, being a MCM TKM Comando 4xxx I have won 4 out 5 duels with other melee templates. The guy that beat me had some doctor and very good heals and was eating food while I didn't. I think I would've taken him had I not ran out of mind 1st.I haven't tried any ranged guys yet but with my TKM Master Doc Pike setup it was about 50/50. SO I think TKM/MCM and TKM/MDoc are fairly even. But it's just more fun to set people on fire hehe.I only wish that TKM could pump out more damage..and fix the unarmed weapon damage for cripes sake.
Yeah, when I fought this TKM / MD things were pretty even at first, but under his HAM bar I could see that he had like every MD buff possible and as soon as my mind ran out the table tipped quickly in his favor. All I had was powerboost, cob and I drank a brandy.
And I agree, when I decided to go MCM instead of MD I did so because of the fun stuff we get to throw around! And I love paralyze! I have taken to using the /stretch command on whoever I am fighting just for laughs, hehe. As they stand there frozen, I heal back up and then they get the message that I "Help them stretch", haha.
Anyway, I think that part of my problem is that I have only had MCM for a day and these were my first duels, I am sure once I understand it more I will do better in PvP.

The absolute two things you must stick on a person in pvp are thyroid rupture and hemmorage. Hemmorage drops their action regen and I imagine many of you all have done the "hurry up and wait" which drives us crazy. After that you can drop the DoT's, snares, etc.
If you can get a paralyze to start off with then great. All to often though I've had my paralyzes break from others area shots. Additionally, in group pvp I end up draining my MIND bar from the numerous targets I have to rupture and hemmor as well as the heals. Group pvp for a CM is a busy busy time and there's only so much the buffs, spice, and food can regen.
