Thread: Poisons and Disease Testing vs Weapons
People keep saying Poison's overpowered. That disease is sick. I spent a good 2 hours pvp last night against some good players who had pets and faction pets. Went overt and used Tef to see results. I used aoe and single target poisons. I spent more time getting out of the cloning center than getting kills. Sure I took a few down but they were still alive and I was dead most times before the poison finished killing them and quite a few times this was from one person not mutliple. 1/2 the time my poison was resisted. One of the issues though that I noticed and that I bugged was that when I had a tef if i did not attack them I could walk up to them and apply poison or disease and not be attacked. This is not good at all. Everyone has been saying disease is a grief med. From using it last night, it's awesome, it takes players out of the combat. Instead of repeatedly coming back out from the cloning center ready for battle they are not damaged as if htey had died not cloning. What this means? It means now they have to heal, TEF goes away. I'm also posting a ss of some of the damage that was done to me. Please not most of this was mind damage.

u know the only problem with what i see in that SS?
uh why are u in the open using Stopping shot?
no wonder u were killed....
if revenge tef is removed disease will definately become greiving...
but i do agree that right now its one of the only ways to stop revenge tef...
oh people know better than to revenge tef me...those that have done it end up with complete diseased HAMs...funny how people knowing that u will revenge tef back a revenge tef, makes them stop...
interesting have u been soloing or in grp?
I find that people are getting smarter when I solo and usually just stay away from me when im alone...but in grp its even sicker esp when im with say a carbineer or pistoleer who can AOE KD if i get knocked down....
where do u usually do most ur fighting?! i do most of mine in moenia and outside the star port are tons of stuff that blocks LOS and gives me cover...
People are definately getting smart about CM dots...
Also when u are overt and see someone else overt do u run towards the guy or try to find a place to kill LOS first? Usually my first instinct is to run for a building
if it gets bad i will toss the mind poison and burst run...
Its cheap but who said the CM was a standoff fighter?
TEF has been screwed up since release...
its so buggy it goes on for no reason goes off for no reason...
revenge tef is just gay...
there have been some uses with covert people without tefs in the area of a AOE poison that gethit even if they werent grped with the target of the AOE poison...
its just not one instance where TEF is borked...
finally someone that knows what im talking about...
moenia has got to be one of the best places for a CM to solo...
yeah but my PA leader laughs...
If people cant handle getting killed in PvP in cruel and unusual ways then dont go overt dont get a tef...get the heck out of the GCW...
if people only knew how kind i was being not using diseases then they wont complain...
and ur right i always laugh when a BH or pistoleer calls me cheap...
lol at least my targets can chase me down to kill with when i dot...4 KDs and ur opponent is perma stuned and cant do anything for the next 30 secs...
lol and there is a cure for dots as crappy as they are...
defense against posture down and KD dont even work right now...so speaking of cheap
oh i solved the KD problem...
i got doc med knowledge 3 and runn around with 2000+ hams...
pistolwhip is a joke now..only thing that kills me one on one is a BH who kds me and spams eyeshots is my worst enemy
You know Elenora, I really don't know where your position is on CM poison anymore...it seems your opinion changes day from day...but maybe I just don't read the boards enough.
a) You think CM poison is overpowered?
No, you can't just think mind poison is overpowered. They all do the same damage to the HAM, so you either have a problem with Health, Action AND mind or you have a problem with none of them. Period. I think your arguement lies in the fact that mind damage is healable but you know what? That's a base PvP issue (one I like for tactical reasons actually) and certainly doesn't need to be nerfed JUST for combat medics. And while I don't think mind damage needs to be nerfed, if it was, it needs to be across ALL professions, not just combat medics. To single out combat medics, you are doing all of us a great disfavor.
If you are going to dispute that Poison in general is overpowered (which I certainly hope you won't, lol!), I suggest you do some comparison with ALL other MASTER professions (because offensive CM abilities mean diddly till master). A master CH, BH, Pistol, Carbineer, Rifle, etc...they WILL take a pure combat medic downface to face.
b) You think TEF abuse needs to be fixed?
Me too.
c) You think LoS needs to be fixed?
Me too. We can agree here. But you know what? It'll never get fixed because the game engine can't reasonably support it.
Stop doing the entire Combat Medic profession a huge diservice by screaming NERF all day..your issue if anything, is with the whole PvP system itself. I can understand your first post-patch reaction to be "holy $h!t, we are sooo overpowered!"...I mean christ, it is quite a shock to be in a profession that was TOTALLY useless in PvP/PvEto one that actually has some measure of use (at least in PvP)....but now that the shock has subsided, if you take a sec to crunch numbers, you'll agree we as a class ARE NOT the gods you try to make us out to be. So quit it, before you re-uselessness our class. Spend more time bitching about our broken skills in PvE.

I personally like to be in the heat of battle with my allies helping them to fight, healing them, and dropping an occasional poison. In this sort of situation I see that we are not as overpowering as everyone thinks.
try it sometime its quite a different game.
