Thread: Why Do I have to be a Artisan????
Now we all know that to be a Combat Medic is very costly on the skill points! An Now as I work up the ranks in Combat Medic I am having to have a ton more resources. And as almost all of you know the stuff gets weird and hard to find.
As I was moving up Medic I befriended some Crafter Artisan and some Scouts that provided me with almost all of my needs to make med's. A few quit the game and some went all to master Artisan professions. Now with the resources like Lok Wild Wheat, Dat Barries special metals etc. It is dam hard to get a crafter to go to Lok or Yarvin. Oh they try once and get killed a few timesthen yell at you for suggesting it! Then to boot most of the crafters don't want to use most of the stuff we need. That Dol.... Iron is crap. Most of the metals we need are very low over all quality so the crafters don't mine it.
So I have to become a Artisan so I can place my own harvesters. Costing me 20 skill points to be ok at it. Thats 20 skill points I can't spend in Rifleman. I got over the fact that I had to craft to do will in being a Combat Medic I'm ok with that. Then to have to run factories, ok I can deal with it.
My suggestion is to give the Combat Medic and maybe Doctors the survey skills as they go up the Med crafting blocks. We don't have to be as good at it as a Artisan but at least we could do it when need be! Costing us 20 skill points is a big let down.
HELP.
We need a miner profession... crafters don't want to get us Lokian wheat so we have to get it ourselves. A miner would be much more likely to have the weapon and scout skills necessary to survive on a planet like Lok.I bet you would would see miners specializing in specific planets or resources specific to a crafting class. You're right though - as it stands, we have to get the resources ourselves, which means maintaining 15 skill points in novice artisan.
How was this game released in this pitiful broken state...
