... but I am one of the few people on this board, apparently, that spends maybe 98% of my time NOT engaged in PVP. I am pretty sure that many of the people playing CM's don't PVP most of the time, perhaps with a few well-funded exceptions.

What I am saying is that the PVP thing is really too talked about and too argued. In all consideration, I am more concerned with the issues that take up 98% percent of my time, not the 2 percent. I would like fixes to my schematics, area stims, etc... I honestly don't think PVP is "that" much of an issue for me right now. I don't think it is for many people because there are so many other things to do in the game right now, just to be effective as a CM. I spend most of my time trying to make money to afford the factory and harvesters I have. Then put in crafting. That takes a long time to make a hefty set of stims. I would use poisons more often, but considering the time it takes to make just ONE, and the fact that that set of poisons get resisted over and over on a NPC mob, poisons aren't a very effective measure to fight NPCs with as an overall personal evalutation.

Why don't we try and focus on those issues that would make the class a bit more fun to play? I mean, is the only thing you want to do is sit behind a wall chucking Mind poisons all day, or did you envision this class as being able to do something other than PVP support profession (support meant in very light terms)?

Many of you are talking about mind poisons and how they are overpowered, but what about the areas of our profession that are underpowered or borked? Like the 13 chem releases I need to make to make a Stim E? Shouldn't that be something we should focus on rather than whine about Poisons all day?

Maybe we should be asking: So, if poisons do get nerfed... what else is there then?

And what about things we would like to add to the class? Here's a suggestion, why, as a CM, can we not make status effect things other than Poison? Why can we not slow people down for instance with a nerve agent or something? Or maybe tear gas to take people's combat ability down?

I haven't played a CM for too long, and I may be wrong about this, you all are welcome to tell me so.

Silax, while you make some excellent points I believe that giving us useful status changing conditions (ie: slow, dizzy, etc...) might be viewed by the Dev's as too imbalancing as it infringes onto the Scout/Ranger profession.

I believe the Dev's intend our classto becombat support, not combat soloing. If we were to get useful status changing weapons that hardly get resisted, my character as a Master CM with Carbineer Area attack skills, would suddenly be able to solo any mob in the game.

your points are extremely valid, but you need to remember. humans will complain about not killing other humans. no way to change this in hell. get used to it as a part of an mmorpg. the pvpers generate the most stink. it sucks, but thats the way it is

While I understand that all people taking CM arent pvp oriented....you also have to realize that CM is probably the most PvP oriented class in game even more than BH...

Realizing that dots especialliy disease are pretty useless in PvE (no exp for daamge only for application), these are weapons primarily geared for PvP....

thats 1/2 of our abilities that is directly gear towards pvp, so if people in the CM class are a bit focused on pvp you have to understand why...

now you do make a valid point that there are things in the class outside of dots that needt to be addressed, but most of those issues is a matter of bugging it and and just sending it to the devs and letting them fix it...

there really isnt any debate on issues like ranged stims taking 13 cdrm or resilence compounds not loading...

also Master CM takes a lot of points and hence most of us are out of skill points....so we have no need to worry about PvE....

Well, count me in as a 99.999% PvE player. Skills point needs or not, PvP is not he "end-game" for me. Mastering My skillset is just eh beginning as far as I'm concerned. There are all these quests out there, the playgrounds, new resources to gather and find, etc. For me that's what I do the most of.

The other consideration here, that has been brought up by Holo in some other threads, is that we CANNOT try to measure any profession by any other profession out there right now. He admits that the classes simply are not balanced, so the only real measure for balancing a class is how they perform in PvE based on how the Devs THINK those profession should perform. His example for the TKA folks was that a Master TKA or Master of any of the combat professions should be able to solo, with some difficulty, a list of MOBs that included things like a solo Sotrmtrooper. Being able to solo reds, like folsk are now, means their class is seriously overpowered.

So trying to use PvP as the CM benchmark right now just sin't going to work. The variables are too hectic. We need to try and stick to PvE examples instead as at least those are static content forms we can use as a benchmark.

How to solo biz naches around their layer as CM:
#1 Find some creature that is really small and will not kill you fast next to lair
#2 Attack said creature with your hands as to not kill it
#3 Carefully move it to be at around 40m from lair
#4 Threaten Shot the creature towards lair/biz naches
#5 When it is at the edge of your range - apply AOE poison to the creature and quickly move away from lair
#6 Repeat 2 more times
#7 Staying at 64m start taking them out one-by-one, make sure not to attack alarmed ones.

Still think CMs are not doing good in PvE ?

That gets u 1/10 of the combat and weapon xp shooting him does...for FP its fix but for combat xp and weapon xp its useless

The original post does not say that the goal is to maximise weapon/combat exp (you suppose to use tricks in the weapon line you trying to get up to achive it), the goal is to demonstrate that yellow/red mobs can be soloed.

At the moment there are a few classes that can do it, CM is one of them.
Note that #2 can be fixed easily by fixing bug and #1 - we discussing somewhere else.
