I am currently building a combat medic...

I also want to fight, not just heal...

So, should I go with rifleman, pistoleer or carbineer???

I know I cant master any, but, which is best suited for a combat medic???

Let me know any reasoning behind it and any other advice or suggestions...

Thanks for your help...

You can fit Combat Medic with master pistoleer.. youre just left with 4 points after. I went with pistol btw and I like it.

If you want to fight then CM is not for you. I think alot of people have misinterpreted the term. In a hostile situation with casualties CM's are non combatents. In fact if you look at history, combat medics in the US military didn't even carry weapons until the Vietnam war and that was only due to the cowardly tactics of the enemy. It also seems that you haven't used your CM skills with any size of a group either or you would have already found that a CM doesn't have time to fight. Every time you fire your weapon it's a missed opportunity to heal someone and on the advanced planets or a heated battle that means they are dead. If you really want to be a CM then doc is the best to add to it. The experimentatin for doc crafting is invaluable plus with master wound treatment you can revive other players. Revive player is hands down, bar none, the single most useful skill in this entire game. If you don't believe me thenconsider this...you and your friends are in the far corner of Dathomir, they all die because you wanted to shoot your weapon a couple of times, and now you are on your own and you all have to go back and collect your belongings OR you have a little doctor in you and you can simply get them all back on their feet. I'm not trying to be negative to you or anything, just a little food for thought based on my experience as a CM. Put the gun away.

Get enough doctor for rez, then take pistoleer.

CH works very well too, as you can heal your pets, and dot mobs at the same time.

Remember it's hard to heal and shoot. Try it first before you decide which one to take.

Lucius: People don't always hunt in groups and they don't always want to play the same role in a group. A master combat medic/master pistoleer can be a full-time healer or a full-time fighter, they can also solo a greater variety of mobs. However, given the importance of revive I've started considering taking enough doctor to use revive packs.

As far what profession to take, I chose pistoleer because it fit my character. It seemed logical for a medic to carry a pistol. It also turned out to be the most overpowered weapon specialist profession (until we get nerfed, anyway) so that was a nice side bonus

i started out as a combat medic then in the middle of it swiched to doctor and now have 1 crafting block left to master cm the entire time ive been a cm i havent used the cm skills once(standard stims have allways been better for me since i have master medic but not master cm) as far as pve is conerned i dont have time to shoot and heal one or the other as far as pvp is concerned i dont have time to shoot and heal its one or the other im thinking thats why cm's only attack is dot so you can deal some damage and heal id personally reccomend ch if you dont want doctor just because its hard to heal and shoot a gun and if the one and only reason for taking cm is poisons youd be better off with another class for all the work that gos into one lousy poison

Well I am training to bea Combat Medic, Fencer, and Pistoleer. I want a good mix of melee, ranged, and healing skills so that I can help my team in combat while at the same time doing a lot of damage.

Hope this helps,

Rob

I have to say that Combat Medic and Dr. is a good combination. When I am hunting in places like Dath, dantooine, or endor I can heal people all day with area stim packs from 50m away. I also have the ability if someone is within 5m of me to hit them with a regular stim d pack if needed. Try going to Tusken Fort and running all over the place to 5m of everyone to heal them when you can just stand 50m away (assuming you have mastered ranged healing) and shooting off ranged area stims to heal multiple people. Its pretty cool!!

Now on the Dr. side during these same battles and hunting groups players will fall and die, well, well, well, I get a /tell every 10-20 seconds stating "hey can u rez me" or "hey I need a REVIVE" well, hell yah, when I get 600+ medical xp per revival.

So after we yell "retreat" because the tuskens spawn in waves or the rancors have torn the group to shreds we go make a camp. Well, since you are a Master Surgeion with Wound C packs you heal up the entire group in no time and then as an extra bonus you hit them with some action, mind, and health buffs to help them last a little longer.

I have to admit, I am sold on Master Combat Medic, and Master Dr (2 boxes away) and I have to give up Novice Carbineer to obtain these, but it is well worth it when you sign on and people are sending u /tells to join their group as you get a great reputation and not to mention I make about 5k a run to the tusken fort as people really appreciate you Reviving them and not making them run back from Mos Espa to get back to the Fort.

If you decide to go stick with Combat Medic take your choice of what ranged weaps profession you want as you can rack up easy xp as people will gaurd you like you are a celebrity if you are the only one there with REVIVE!!

Oh did I forget the enjoyment of Area C Poison!
