I get this message all the time even though i have Range Stimpacks ready on my inventory. This happens when I use the "healDamage" macro in the toolbar.
If I drag the Range Stimpack to the toolbar and click on it it'll fire the stimpack. Is this a bug?

Also another experiment I did is I put a regular stimpack C in the inventory among the range Stimpacks . The Healdamage macro will find that regular stimpack and fire it..once that stimpack runs out of charges . It'll revert back to the "no valid medicine found message" even though i have the range ones still present in the inventory.

What gives?

Are you sure the med is not in your backpack? (macros do not use meds in it).

Im pretty sure this is a bug, /healDamage detects ranged stims just fine if you have normal stims (I keep Ds for pet healing) in your inventory. However, with no normal stims, you get the "No Valid Medicine Found". And yes, this has killed me and others before, so I have to keep a close eye on it...

I have gotten this also but not the way you do Grom. It usually happens when I run out of one of my 2 different meds. Or I get this message if I'm too far away from a person to heal them. One way to prevent from getting this is to put all your meds in your inventory and keep a close eye on your range. Keep some C's/B's and some ranged C's/B's(depending on what skill your at, or even A's if your not that far hehe) in your inventory at all times. Keep a close eye on them so you make sure you have enough.

I have not been out fighting since this last patch so if something got messed up then I wouldn't know...

Hope this helps a bit.
