Combat Medic Archive

I will not repeat all the problems in our class, many have done so very well so far. The only question I have is why are we ignored so? We are an hybrid profession that costs 169 skill points and yet we all feel ignored by SOE and the devs.

Please, give us some feedback, if only to tell us you are working on solving our issues and let us know not to drop our classes just yet for there is light at the end of the tunnel.

They seem to work on the professions, but they hardly deem it necessary to talk to the communities if there' isn't some sort of riot . At least thats my experience from the BE board.

Let me tell you, the devs ignoring us is a good thing. I rather be mostly functional than to be nerfed into oblivion

I don't think it's ignoring really, just that there are only so many people working on the game at one time, and if you take into account that ALL the professions need tweaking in one form or another, it's difficult if not near impossible to focus on every one at one time. However the priority at which they handle these issues is questionable. Like the problem with Stim Es and disease packs requiring 900 medical skill....they are blatent problems that should have been fixed as soon as they arose. Why they have no been so far is a good question. I still stand by the idea that they're not "ignoring" anyone but on the other hand it makes you wonder about foibles like this...

There is a thread over on the main SWG discussion forum (where more Devs seem to read, or at least Holo kind tries to) that is 19-20 pages now and over a week old about this very issue (Mdic classes being Holo's red-headed stepchildren. Feel free to support and bump it.)

I can appreciate the hard work that the Devs are putting into things, but we are talking about a business here. And customer realtions need sto be a very stong part of any viable business plan. Correspondents was a primary way that SOE seems to want to try to take to improve that part of their business model.

However, as it stands now, we are seeing that these very busy developers in ever other profession, except for most of the support classes (not including BE) have not even had their Issues responded to. I'll try to work on something today to cover point by point where the Devs have or have not responded to Naty's first Top 5 list all of a month-and-a-half ago.(I exclude BE since they have at least gotten not only a response to their issuses list, but even more responses than that, You guys should downright feel lucky. Yes, you need loving and they need to fix things, but fixes take time, MONTHS even, not a few days or even weeks. Have patience, your Dev is also the Smuggler Dev so he's doing at least double-duty, yet he STILL finds time to send you guys responses.)

Holo has stated that to suggest we are being ignored is simply to muddy the waters. A statement I wholeheartedly disagree wtih. We make that statement because of the appearance of truth in it. That is not muddyiong the waters, but making it crystal clear what the issues is. Customers are feeling ignored. Period. Can't get much clearer than that beyond saying that Ignored Customers=Unhappy Customers=No-Longer-Customers.

How does that cloud the issue when it quite obviously IS the issue. At any rate, the Devs don't really hit any forums other than the main SWG one, so you may want to jump in on that thread and try to keep it alive.

fact is, they have been ignoring the medic classes since way back in beta.

fact is, Holo just admitted that the correspondant program was a failure the way it went.

fact is, there are so many people crying on these boards from melons to ATST's that the few medics that are asking for the long due communication (and i am talking about tackling the issues here, not asking how long Doc Buffs should last[beta] or if Doc's are retired CM's[this week]) don't make a difference.

fact is, them celebrating to have reached a great level of communication does not mean they actualy did reach it. Holo tried his best, but this was by no means sufficient; not his fault but SoE/LA for not providing the means to actualy do what they intended to do.

so no, we are probably not getting that acknowledgement. but if you read between the lines, they do acknowledge the problem with communication (Holo's remark about the GCW forum beeing the next stop as an answer to a Medic's request) but they have no idea how to handle it.
