i was told potency...just curious...i make 218 potency poisons if i really have to (they work good from what ive been told)

Yep high pot gets through. The tick may be lower, but even a tiny tick will hurt if there isn't a doc around
I have some long range, high pot, low tick poisons I like to toss. I can stay well out of any melee range and work em down. It works very nice against jedi, and for the ranged guys run in, toss and run out of range. I luv the tells I get when doing that....lol

well i love fighting jedi...(especially with 1500 tick going above there heads)....as for doctors...they have way higher effectiveness to cure poisons than we do making higher potency so they cant cure it

Indeed, the resists are fighting your potency mods.
There's a guy selling some 500+ single C's. Potency is around 115-130. Those things will just keep bouncing and bouncing and bouncing against good resists.
If you run into someone by accident in a starport while "special forces" maybe they wont have resists. If you are doing a base defense or raid repel, theres a sure fire chance they will have resists...unless they're dumb. Then again people still do PvP with 80% helmets only still so maybe you'll get lucky.

So you will actually resist any poison that your resist buffis at, or does it still have a chance of going through?

my testing seems to be poison will stick (your average 130 potentcy one) 40% of the time vs 220 or so resist buffs

Thats kinda dumb. If your resist is higher then the potency on a poison you should always resist it in my opinion. That would put a end to poison/disease DOT wars.

Not really since resist have no effect on weapon dot's. And there are 2 guys I run with with very high weapon dots. And we always have that 5% chance of hitting anyway. Not the best odds, so in a long fight just switch to healing, those resist buffs don't last very long and its funny how often ppl forget to get them reapplied in a fight.

u sure resists have no effect on weapon dots? i make 300 resist cs and i really bareey get touched by weak poision weapons you have to have something real special have it stick in my experience,havnt tested it against cms really yet though

I'd say its a little lower that 40% vs. a 220+. I call 40% vs. a 180 or 190 maybe. Still though they will act weird and sometimes it seems that the 5% chance is alot higher.
Thats still alot of throwing you gotta do just to land a single poison. Makes you turn into a nice reactive target or punching bag.
