Thread: Am I the only person who doesn't want to be uber?

From what I hear, CM is going to be an awesome prof after the CURB. I am a CM and I want it to be balanced b/c I enjoy a good fight. So I want to hear if I am the only CM who thinks this.

I'm just a healer who happened to have some nasty bio weapons I'm having fun in TC and look forward to going live with this stuff. I like the support abilities we got, and it looks like we will have a good role in a pvp group.

Not really, CM dots have moved to supplementary damage instead of crazy_ass damage. You'll be doing more damage with other weapons than neuro and dtoss combined. What will come in handy is the number of heals which will keep you and your group alive.


Maybe once we get some venom enhanced Enhancers we'll see some really crazy_ass damage again. Good luck getting 9 identical

From most of the posts I've read it doesn't seem like the general consensus is that all CM's want to be uber. Most people understand that the CU was necessary for balance. However what many resent or dislike is that the profession is not what it was. Our skillset is overall the same but in a redefined kinda way.
In some ways it's like taking a rifle away from a rifleman.

There have been several discussions already that break down the amount of damage CM's do compared to others & the fact is currently CM's have 2 attacks. poison and disease (which I'm not saying is underpowered.) Our area heals are mediocre at best now. Debate all you want about it. To me it's still disappointing.

New state effects and DOT's are nice. Overall I would have preferred to see some balancing in our current system. Uhh I guess that's why it's in my signature .

I doubt Venom will have the effect your looking for. If so that kind of defeats what their goals in CU for CM I think. Which incidentally does not coincide at all with the known issues for CM's.

So no your not the only person who doesn't care to be uber I've never been. I'm glad you are looking forward to the release. I'm not excited but we'll see.

I dont have an opinion on the CURB yet b/c I havnt tried it out at all. I am sort of looking forward to see what it brings, I hope it doesn't ruin the game like some think. And I can respec to try something new. I like the current combat system though.

The inherent difference between a DOT and a weapon is the DOT ALWAYS hits once it's applied. Andmake no mistake, it's very easy to hit with all the DOT's even against Doctor innoculations.After the curb without a way to maintain ones health as a doctor or CM, the CM dotter wins everytime in duels. Now in open PvP it may be a different situation because of the limited range of CM after the update.


And as a side note, CM's can throw faster than Doc's can heal.


Peronsally I prefered the healing aspects of CM than the offensive side. I'm sorry that the balance is shifting to offence. I'm not interested in being Uber, just competitive. I don't like the idea of things being easy, it just doesn't seem like a worthwhile victory when the battle has no risk.

the funny thing is most CM's saw themselves as healers too. If memory serves me correctly it was one of the main responses regarding how we see ourselves in the future. & what role CM is in combat.

(as for me it just depends on the situation) I really enjoy both worlds. mcm/mdoc for a long time.

I've tried a lot of templates on Test, and it appears that the DOTs that CM have are a bit much. The problem is the stacking. The fire DOT and the poison DOT stack. The combined tick is almost 600+ of unmitigated/incurable damage. The main problem with the DOTs are that once they stick, they never "miss" doing damage. There should be two rolls regarding DOTS: (1) The initial throw to determine if it sticks, and (2) A damage roll to determine if a stuck DOT "hits".

Make no mistake about this though, post-CURB, the first profession to get hit with the nerf bat will be combat medic. I just hope the Devs don't go overboard when they correct it.

Disagree. They need to make medical warfare efficiency play more of a role with application. Take away from the tree and put a much greater boost instead at Master Combat Medic and master medic as well. As it stands master medic's +20 tested worthless in PvP and about the same in higher content PvE.


If a DoT lands it should always tick. There should be more emphasis on innoculation effectiveness. Additionally, it seems that no one has tested the cure poison and resist foods from chef.


600 damage every 10 seconds is not alot. It seems like alot when you're waiting on the stupid action bar to regen to fire off another special though.
