Thread: CM ideas for changes

I am a "defense stacker" which includes being a rifleman. thus i must have 2k+ mind when i am pvp'n. then mr medic comes along. tosses his poison at 90+ meters. farther than i can ever shoot him. btw he tosses it on group tef. so ok now im poisoned. and i have 3 other guys shooting at me. i have my 90% helm on not doing much. then i notice acklay venom... bam 800 gone. i pop a canape to help slow it down. not doing jack. im dead.


that is just a scenario that happens on a daily basis on servers now since so many people exploited the cave and got there venom earlier than others.


see a few things i would like to see with a CM.....lower range. a fully armored CM can toss a poison when he has his +20 to every crafting at 90+ meters. thus making it rather impossible to kill him. he tops on his bike and runs. ur left there to die....and maybe try to med it off before the disese ticks you incapped. CM's need lower range... 40 max imho...25 for starters


CM's need there throws to fall under ranged defenses. if i shoot at you its a ranged attack...they are throwing at me from a range. thus in comes my 191 ranged def to make his toss miss rather than hit me everytime killing me instantly here-there-after.


CM's are far too powerful and they run of the group tef ability. if nothing is done abouta SUPPORT CLASS then everybody will be a combat medic. thus incomes the medic part yes they can heal. and most will argue it "well it says combat" granted but it doesn't say.

"1 man army" combat medic was made to slow people down and support the fighters in the group not to come in ona tef and toss an aoe...get on his bike and run and watch the 1 rifleman...---granted he wasn't one. kill everybody else with ease using master head shot. as i said they are far to good. and they do need nerf they come and go as they please and just annhilate whole buffed squads of people in a matter of seconds


a unbuffed CM comes...tef's tosses his poisons.. granted he will die.. but guess what his job is done. i am left struggling for my life meditating away my status affects and as soon as i sit down i am either attacked by somebody else using his poison to there advantage or i just 3 incap greif.


this is just the lame things on a daily basis that happens. maybe its a cross between a rant and what needs to be fixed but something needs to be done about the combat medic profession.

Since this topic is covered in MANY, MANY threads here, I would instead respectfully request that you take your observations over to the GCW forum where it can be more properly debated (and you will likely find more support, as well.)

Since your treatise is not what the CMs themselves, as a whole, maintain as their position (due to many other issues and mitigating circumstaces that I feel you would do well to educate yourself on) it would actually mean that the CM Correspondent would be doing the CM communitity a disservice and NOT doing his job to forward just your uninformed opinon on the matter on to the Devs. Instead it is Jest3r's job as the GCW correspondent to pass on that kind of balance issue (and he has.) So once again, I would respectfully request that you continue to push your opinion on the GCW forum where the proper corresopondent, Jest3r, can be kept aware of the importance of this issue to you.

Basically that whole, long winded sob story boils down to those quotes.


Funny how everything you said you base your PvP ability on is being nerfed. yet CM's are not.


Learn to play without exploits or figure out how to counter the CM's..... we arent goin anywhere.

Wow you just completely ruined your post by admitting that you are a defense stacker. So let me get this straight, you are whining about the ONLY profession that can even hit you? Wow you have mucho balls friend. I would much rather get hit by a CM poison then have to get chased around by a rifleman/tka with +191 ranged defense and +183 melee defense, constantly spamming headshot3 on me with his ub3r jawa rifle. Get a clue son. You got PWNED.

At LEAST I know I can take that CM out. Poison or not. Ever tried to hit another rifleman/tka? Kinda hard eh? So you are saying to put poisons and diseases under the "ranged defense" category. Well, that pretty much makes you "invincible" eh? What's the challenge anymore? Why even play? Answer me this. If this was the case, you think you would really be whining about CM's anymore? No, then you would be whining about the other rifleman/tka with better skill tapes than you. Then you would post that skill tapes need a nerf. lol.

So you support defense stacking but you don't support the one thing that can bypass defense stacking. Kind of a hypocrite aren't you?

So you want a poison to miss you completely? why don't you invest in some Doctor skills? Oh I forgot that would take away from your stacked defenses...

Any class can use group TEFs so you don't make much of a point here. GTef is a GCW issue not a CM issue.

CMs are not a support class....we have 69 offensive medicine schematics vs 8 defensive medicine schematics. That means the DEVs intended us to be a damage class. Add to that the fact that we can only heal 5 types of combat damage vs Doctors that can heal 12 types and you will see we are meant to be a damage class first and a support class second.

Since when can a TKA meditate away status effects? As a TKA I know you can't even begin to meditate while having a status effect on you. You sure you are playing SWG?

Combat medics are a support class!!!


Hey, didn't work... we're still not a support class. We still get extremely much more offensive schematics than we get supportive ones. We still have a combat Xp requirement to become Novice (one that "novice defense stacker" doesn't have I might add)

BTW Yes it is true, I've tested it myself, poison only ticks once every TEN seconds!
