Seriously-

I'm a MCM- not 'cause I wanted to be "uber" but because my holo told me to.
Now I read about how F'n potent we were supposed to be and I'll admit I was looking forward to having some power as a nice change up from crafting.

This weekend I was broke as hell- which means it's time to start running missions (I opted on rebel missions 'cause I might as well pull some faction while I earn some bread.) I got two other dudes to roll with me- A Fencer and a Swordsman- so's to amp the amount of credits awarded.

Now, I got pistols 4 and ranged 4 and also brawler 2 handed 2 which are all little of nothin' but come in handy from time to time. You can't really add too much once you've used the points it takes to master CM.

We roll up on the first mission where there's like 5-6 Imp dudes just hangin' out and guarding a flag- You know Imperial stuff- and We engage them.

My style goes a little like this-
I throw a Health Area Poison and a Health Area disease (I use the health ones first because I can also stack on Bodyshots 1 and 2 plus a health bleed visa-vie my pistols 4)

My poisons have a potency of like 118-126 I think I hit 80+ percent on the usage of these things- so this is nasty stuff I'm throwing.

Then I throw a heal on myself 'cause about that time the enemy usually has popped me at least two GOOD times (I'm wearing Ubese with comp helmet and boots).

It is at this point that the Swordsman and the Fencer have already dispatched with the other 4-5 guys and are moving in to finish my guy.

I throw a heal their way "area" style and by the time it hits they are hacking away at the Imp's flag.

WHERE EXACTLY AM I OVERPOWERED IN THIS SCENARIO!?

I will admit it was cool when I dropped a massive mind heal on the Swordsman he was impressed-

You healed swordsman for 500-blah blah blah mind-

Swordsman: Whoa! How did you do that Tevin!?
Tevin: I'm Batman.

The rest of the missions went about the same way. Except for that one where the Imp's called in a crapload of ST reinforcements. I poisoned a lot of them but it was the Swordsman who hung in the longest- cold-clocking several troopers with one swing.

Now these two guys I was out with are dropping 600-800 points a hit and they are beating on Imp's like they owe them money. Even if I had the uber Geonoshian-**edit**e I would only be matching their damage- SO HOW AM I OVERPOWERED!?

Later we roll to Coronet to drop some PvP on some guys causing trouble on our turf. I got popped so quick it wasn't even funny- but that was mostly due to lag as by the time I could finally see everyone in the square I was incapped.

Now I understand that the damage we do is more annoying than regular damage because it's a little more permanent than normal Dam- but that's just the nature of the beast. Are Vrelts overpowered? 'cause they drop the same type of damage but no one complains about them.

The bottom line is people that complain about us being overpowered either are not looking at how much dam other prof's can do and how fast they can do it or are just pissed 'cause they've been on the wrong end of an area poison (which some classes have defenses for- TKA).

Don't let people tell us we need to be nerfed- we really don't.

The bottom line is: for the amount of SP I put into this proffession I could have mastered a combat prof and almost mastered another and do WAAAYYY more damage than I am with the average poisons/diseases I'm using. That is NOT overpowered.

Yes,the whiners are the ones that get hit for mind poison disease combos in PvP.
But when they do the holo-grind, then they find out that we are not overpowered at all.
My MCH kicked holly booty in PvE....stuff my MCM can't even handle.
But my MCM does well at suicide bombing raiders of our fair city.
MCM is not overpowered...period.

While I agree that in PVE we are not that powerful, in PVP we do greatly effect the outcome of a battle. Consider a PVE situation where the crit/NPC has 5-10k HAM (yes even mind). Our Poisons/Diseases take a relatively longer time to wear down these things then it does a PC. Player characters may hit b/w 3-4k HA (with buffs), but only 1-2k (if on food/spice) on mind. This is a considerable difference b/w PVE and PVP especially if you are hitting a PC with mind poison/disease. Remember, the PC you just killed w/ poison/disease most likely payed for the buffs and food they are using. Therefore for them to still be damaged by the poison/diseaseafter they have killed you is frustrating for them (especially if it is disease).

So, while I do not argue that MCM's are overpowered in PVE, we do have an adavantage at making people angry at us for damage done to them after our death.

You are right Hotdog we are not overpowered. We do comparable damage in PvP and can possibly do almost as much damage in PvE. The problem is that we have to pay for every single shot we take. (to the nerf herders I know the RL for commando does too) We then either have to run away or we die. Just that simple. We can (both in PvP and in PvE) hit with a single and an area and do much more damage but that is usualy a little unwieldly. It is possible though.

Just to clarify something for you, potency has nothing to do with how much damage a poison or disease does. Potency determines how hard they are to resist. Put more points into effectivness and your poisons will do more damage. That said, our poisons are all but worthless in PVE.

I have to say I am sorry but I do not agree with the post at all. The post was written by a Hologrinder MCM.

And he is new to the preofession. Granted in PVE you may not fair well. BUt in PVP MCH can be dominationg. If you squad does not have a few on your side. Odds are you will lose...

Good desease and poisons. Can be thrown from 90m out. No other pfofession can come close to this. The ticks I have seen are close to 1000. And it keeps on ticking over and over. Plus if you desease and poison. Instant encapp. What ever happened to Dots not encapping anymore?

Maybe you need to be bumped a little in PVE... But deffinatly taken down a few notches in PVP..

Remember you are combat MEDICS....... Medic should be your main ability not the combat part...
