Thread: New CM idea, no, its not a call for nerf. Its to make the class have more options !

As it stand, all CMs is toss Mind Poison and Disease. Yes its, but now with every other person being a doctor, its not AS effective (mind you, it still is). I am not a CM, not do I intend to play one. But CMs are the primary status changing class in the game. Well...I guess BH have that too. Anyway. Here is my idea. We all know someday, something might happen to Mind Poisons. So...why dont you have...


REAL debuffs. Yes. stuff like



  • 25% Attack speed reductionPoison (stop those pesky Rifleman)

  • 20% Damage reduction Poison

  • 50% rooted debuff (as in, when thrown, you move slower, should be short duration though)

  • Smoke Bombs (gives a status effect similar to blind...but affects all within area)

  • Reduced Healing Poison. (mimics 500 BF for 1 min)

This is just an idea. Cause CMs are closely related to MMORPG Shamans.

I think extra status effects would be good. Maybe something similar to the Nightsister Force Choke that will reduce the size of your bar.

Doctors are the counter to CMs...so make CMs the counter to doctor buffs.

If doctors and CMs were answers to one another, doctors would be able to area-cure the area-poison. You're in a base with five other people, defending the base, the base gets hit with a poison, six people are poisoned. Doctor has to cure six poisons. Debuffs against buffs are all well and good, but then there'll be a need for even MORE doctors.

And I don't know about you, but I don't see that many doctors around. I only /know/ three, myself. Two are often hunting somewhere I can't survive and the third is usually AFK with a dance macro while she's off to RL work. Which leaves me pretty well up a creek, doesn't it?

I'm not screaming nerf or anything - I'm just saying there's no good counter for the area poisons as it is. And with some of your proposals, I can see the following happen (frequently) in a one-on-one situation.

MCM hits blind debuff to help avoid getting hit, starts running
MCM hits poison.
MCM hits disease.
MCM uses root debuff to get out of range (if he's not dead at this point)...

Which would mean the target is triple-incap'd and the MCM gets away without even having to clone. I think they need to fix THAT bug before they offer new options.
