Thread: Is Combat Medic a good pair to go with Master TKA?

I'm looking for something ranged to go with TKA and I was thinking about combat medic. Do their disease and poisons have a good range? Do they do decent damage? I have enough points to do CM 2-2-4-2. Is that a good combo that would let me do decent ranged damage, or should I just go TKA/Rifleman or Carbineer for the melee/ranged thing?

you do not have the skill points to master both professions unfortunatly. Being as you can not master the profession, I would not touch the crafting line at all, and spend those 11 points in other trees.

There is no point in being a crafter if you are not going to master the profession. You won't have the experimentation, or assembly to make the best items. Your best bet would be to do something like 3-3-0-4. If your skill points would allow it. You would ultimatly want to find the points for 4-4-0-4...but I don't remember if master TKA allows for that. Poisons may help you some in combat, but I believe that their are better templates for a master TKA.

I agree with this...

Unless they changed it, I believe that crafting lvl 4 gives you 100 experimentation and assembly for combat medicine. However, without being master, you're better off buying your combat medicine and beefing up your other trees as much as possible. I don't remember the names unfortunately, but I think that your best bet is to go for 4-0-0-4 first, and spend any leftover in speed. The last tree (0004) gives you the ability to use better medicine, so that's the best one. The first (4000) gives you better ranges. If you can buy medicine with good range, maybe you'd want to go for the speed/mind heal tree instead...

wow, I just realized that myself. Guess I never paid attention to the experimentation/assembly break down.

If you aren't looking for the healing advantage for parties or pets I'd go with a weapon class with a bleed. Currently if you use a bleed from a weapon and then finish the critter off with your fists you get a lot of Unarmed xp. If you use a CM poison you'll get very little unarmed xp and a boat load of combat xp.

I'm heading to same direction myself. Have CM 4-1-0-4 And going for master TK. Left overs I will use for crabine so I have some ranged damage capability to kill everyone at 1 HAM.

You would be much better off using those skill points to become a doctor. Buy your buff packs from someone and buff yourself for battles. Being a CM you will loose way to many points to combat XP instead of your unarmed. I think you will find yourself much more lethal if you are buffed up on your Red and Greens with some Muon Gold in reserve for your Blues just incase then the little bit that the CM will add your ability.

It would make a pretty nice combo imo, especially if you don't need much regular exp anymore (i.e. already mastered TKM). The poisons/diseases would make it WAY easier to kill high armor critters, since TKA's get no bleeds of their own, and in PVP you'd be pretty **edit** deadly too. Someone wants to kite you? Hello mind disease/poison. You might even be able to do some Doc and 4004 CM, which lets you use some nice stuff, and gives you good med use, range, and terrain negotiation.
