Thread: Increase Crate Size to 1000 for Components

I am writing this post to get some input/support for the idea of asking the developers to increase the size of the crates for compenent parts only. I think this idea would be a benefit for many plaerys in different crafting professions and also the game as a whole in reducing database load.

The problem ties into the concept of multiple identical components in schematics So when I doa run of 1000 itemsI have 20 crates of 50 identical items. Then I have to store these as I get the other runs of 1000 components so I can put them all togehter later. So when I get to running a final product run I have an input hopper or backpacks laying around with all the crates of components of three different types. I am a Doctor so I do the medical crafting, but I think this issue is similar for the other crafting professions to at least some degree.

Personaly, I put crates that are the same into backpacks most of the time and then store them in an extra house. That is the only way I can easily tell which crates are identical without carefully examining the SN of each crate.

The only down side I can picture is that the code may not be very tolerant for changing the size of factory crates for certain types of items. Hopefully this is not true but if it is I really hope the extra coding or just allowing all crates to go to 1000 items will be workable.

Please post your thoughts or support on this suggestion. Maybe the developers will address this issue if it is eimple enough to fix or enough support for the change is shown in the player community.

All crates used to goto 1000, they changed it for, "data base reasons." I personally don't think that the 1000 in one crate is much more uneffician than the many crates to get the same number of items...

It's such a simple idea.... that it will never happen, heh.

This change would probably require months of programming, since the devs never could imagine anyone would want crates of more than 50 items when they made the original code.

"What? Possibility for MORE than 50 items? Who could ever possibly want more than 50 items in a crate?"

Yesterday, I ate the woman's precious begonia, and today I have dismembered the amaryllis in the bedroom window. She is furious over the loss of her darling house plants! I find it highly gratifying.

Yes i would LOVE the devs if they made this change.

heres a tip though. store them in afactory so they dont take up space in my houseand when you craft with in the name put [ex. AIA 55 (1) ] to keep them in order and ever time you make a new batch put a new number in the name.

I have a similar solution - however, I try to put the stats and the DATE that I made the schematic in the name. It has certainly saved me a lot of grief trying to track down the right set of components for an item schematic. I don't create several batches of schematics for the same componentat once though, it may help to add a batch code as well.

Also, one of my armorsmith friends just shortcuts the whole thing by typing the serial number (which is visible at thecustomization screen) into the name.

Would LOVE to have a 1000 item crate though. My poor aching inventory!
